The goal was completely avoidable yes had Lewis and maybe Pollock and Livermore defended properly while he was still wriggling around with the ball, but the shot itself was an excellent one.

Yeah, I’ve just watched it and it’s a quality shot.

For me Pollock’s mostly to blame. He goes full Porteous (which no one should ever do), charges in even not on his side but fails to win the ball. Lewis did what Lewis does - the bare minimum - and then both let Bowler cut inside. Really poor one to give away.

We've failed to score entirely in 9 of our 30 league games so far this season - maybe it's just perception and I'm totally wrong, but that seems pretty poor to me.

How long has it been since we had such a clueless striking department?

There’s a line from Graham, to Vydra, Deeney, Ighalo, a bit more of Deeney, then Dennis in the PL relegation year and finally Pedro last season which probably saw us punching a bit. But it’s truly dire now. The current two look like competition winners. They don’t even move or anticipate situations like most strikers at this level, let alone look like they have the potential to develop further.

The players are worn out it seems. The squad is small. We have had our golden patch and now it could be toil until the end of the season.
Morris is not good enough, no pace. He is league one level or lower .
Pollock had one decent performance and today it showed that he is not good for the championship. Pace? He is a carthorse.
The club is broke. The fee for Chakvetadze was closer to €500k. It is not the €2.5m quoted in the media. The club transfer budget for 2023/24 was £2m and all monies to be paid in installments. Rajovic and Chakvetadze deals takes it close to €1.5m.
It is a good transfer window for Pozzo and Duxbury.

Bayo looks like a converted midfielder. Rajovic looks like someone from National League South. Seriously, Sean Jeffers from St Albans is better than him.

The recruitment team are utterly clueless, and I include Val in that. He was instrumental in signing Raj and is was such a bad call. He had a purple patch of form when teams didn’t quite know how to play him, but that’s long been worked out. He’s not scoring anymore and is a pointless player on the pitch.

Fans are so happy because the players run about showing that they care, and I also want players like that but who have the necessary qualities to be successful in the league we are in. Hell, we could put half the forum in their place and I’m sure we’d all show we care and be sh1t too.

My 5 yr old has more strikers instinct than our lot. He scored 56 goals in 9 games. Granted there’s no goalie but still, he finished top goal scorer for the u6 league and they won all their games.

For €500k, to be paid in installments. It is a risk, but we are broke.
Looks good with the ball, but with very little end product. He is like a fly on your window trying to get outside. Flying around but has no idea where he is going.

    GoingDown "The Stability"

They didn’t look like they cared today. I wondered if was because they too are pissed off with the lack of recruitment and support. Maybe a couple of them fancied a playoff run.

Weimann important leveller, Moore brace on debut, Philogene scores, Whittaker scores. Smart recruitment decisions paying off across the division but Bozo got it wrong yet again.

Lewis is awful and getting worse.

31 crosses today but poor quality.

Asprilla with the best chance of the game but for once he didn’t look to take his usual 28 touches, and instead guided it meekly wide first time. Another pig of a performance from him.

    Martins was toothless, again.

Dennis was exactly how I remember him from last time - exciting, unpredictable, selfish and poor decisions.

Kone looks like he could do with some time on the bench.

The other really annoying thing is that Bowler hadn't scored since the start of November and then he suddenly pulls that out the bag vs us.

Even Val’s seen the light I think. He went from speaking around the time of the unveiling about the comprehensive scouting that had taken place, implying he was involved and why Raj was exactly the right fit for his style, to Raj being a development project, to having only really seen a brief video and talking about the serious work needed to get him up to the right level. Massive backtracking and basically washing his hands of him.

Edwards did the same by trying to big up Bayo and his involvement in the deal back in the summer of 2022. When will head coaches here learn to make it clear they just train whatever fodder they get given and have little say?

How does £15m sound and five year deal? Perks include you get to watch every game he plays free of charge and all travel paid well in advance. You also get to sit next to Gino at home games. Sound tempting?

Well, obviously they would have gone off a lot today. Isn’t it possible they have them going off because they want them to lose?

Plenty of comments about Luton on this forum, for that matter.

The deal sounded tempting until the last part of the deal. So going to have to reject that offer. Once my son ends up at Sporting Charleroi I’m sure we will end up at Watford via some crooked agent.

You are missing the point my friend. Watford fans having notifications on for Luton's games just so they can sing Luton get battered everywhere they go (while we are 0-1 down to fuccking Cardiff) is embarrassing.

It was one of the worst atmospheres at a game I've ever been too. Cardiff were awful with the exception of a combined 5 minutes.

Not sure I've ever seen a group of fans as tanked up and hard looking as Cardiff though.

Saw a thing ranking fan noise at championship clubs recently and we weren't in the bottom 5, so god knows how awful the others must be.

The best thing about this result is it stop idiots from peddling the line “this time last year we’d have lost this match”

It's extremely depressing to watch Match of the Day analysing the Brighton-Palace game by discussing and showing at length how well JP is playing for Brighton and how well their attacking players know each other's game already. His presence here (and, by extension, his ilk) is already becoming like some kind of snatched fever dream.

Ha I was thinking the same thing about their fans. Most thuggish looking fans I've seen since Leicester one time in the 90s (I think, maybe early 2000s), when a couple of their fans started on the entire lower Rous.

Pedro is at a club no bigger than us, but are light years ahead now.

We got promoted before they did. It just empathises what a failure Gino Pozzo is now his father is no longer involved.

0-1 championship defeats are something to be cherished. We have a 4k smaller ground than Crystal Palace and need to know our place. Real problem of entitlement among our fans.

The last time these 2 would be in contention to start in a squad was 2008-2009 with Kabba, Priskin, and Rasiak. In between we had Helguson, Sordell and
Moses Ashikodi knocking about in some form.
