I walked out of that ground shaking my head. On my shoulders I had a yellow and black scarf draped around my 1999 Phones 4U Shirt. Underneath I was proudly wearing my GT IS GOD T-shirt. On the inside I felt proud of the fans today before the match for a brilliant tribute to the man.

What happened after that I’d like to forget. Poor is an understatement at best. GT would of been appauled by that showing, and Burnley’s lack of football brain.

Apart from the fans and Deeney’s header we rarely made a noise today on the pitch. Delafoo should of scored one on one, Success was anonymous when he cane on and seeing Britos come on reminded me how bare bones we are in reality. To be fair to him he did well, and apart from one great block Mapps was pretty average.

We didn’t turn up today. It was a very somber day but the players had a chance to remind us of what s great game football is. Burnley were not better, we made them look good. Yes they should of won, but we didn’t deserve to win either.

I’m not going to comment on their”goal” il leave that to Billy Goat. I’m not overly worried we had an off day as many have said already. I’m certain harsh words were said at FT about the performance. Oh and I don’t buy the BS Doucoure’ was injured either. He’s off and al know it now. I hope we can use the money to get some fresh faces in. I would of chucked Pendz on instead of Success, he looks hungry.

    Positives for today:

    We didn’t lose

We got the rub of the green again for once

    Slither lost.

    We’re still 7th.

    I still love this club.

The game was so uninspiring I can’t even be bothered to read the last 2 pages so probably repeating what’s already been said

Should have scored in the first 5 mins , if we had might have been a better game. We looked slow and 2nd best for a lot of the game. Success coming on seemed to motivate us a little. At least we got a clean sheet

Deeney , think he did ok

Gerry D , think he did ok, but wish he could put away simple chances

Bobby P, was quiet, but not sure it’s his fault, we didn’t go down the left , when he had the ball you could see the talent, Do we not go down that side as it’s starts with kabs, kiko on the other side is more adept at starting the action on the right ?

Sema not sure , seems fast but missing something

Cleverly and capoue did ok , not sure if we missed Doucs or just not having that great a day

    Kiko looked alright

Mariappa and kabs , outclassed all match

    Holebas quiet , was ok

Foster, thank **** we have a good keeper, made a few mistakes but was lucky , good performance

Britos, surprise of the day, came on , didn’t get sent off, made a few crucial tackles

Would rather we had one, but at least we didn’t loose

Where was Cathcart and Doucoure today? A lot of people saying it's because Doucs is leaving, but by that logic, so is Cathcart...

Minor knee injuries apparently. Doucs picked up his v Palace and Dustcart got his in training.

Literallly came on here to say the same thing.

Unfortunately football lost today because of Burnley’s refusal to try and even play the game.

Pundits bang on about foreigners cheating and diving, but there is a little English team by the name of Burnley. This spiteful, nasty little team filled with players mostly from the UK are the worst of the lot.

From the first minute they had no interest in playing today. Time wasting on the 8th minute summed up their tactics nicely.

I’m a glad their goal was disallowed. We have had so many decisions go against this season, it was about time one went our way.

Burnley never deserved the three points. Looking forward to Dyche’s post match interview as he complains about how many decisions have gone against them etc. It is always someone else’s fault with him.

It was a good point in the end. Opportunity definitely missed but at least we didn’t lose. Let’s not forget they played the same way against Spurs and only lost 1-0. Spurs have Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Son etc and could only score one against Burnley at home.

We are still 7th. It’s the best season we’ve had. Most results went our way today. We are still in with a shout for European football which we have never been able to say come the new year in our last 3 seasons. I’m sure we will sign a couple players in the last week of the window who will make us better. On top of all this, we don’t have a run of hard fixtures. We play the top 6 in between teams that are beatable. Unlike Leicester who have Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs as their next three games.

People complaining that Javi got it wrong, he really didn’t. Quina would have be ineffective as he is too lightweight. Success was atrocious a couple weeks ago against Woking and didn’t deserve a start. In fact people on here were calling for his head on a stick. Now all of a sudden today he would have been our saviour. Sema has shown glimpses of quality this season and would have had a goal but for their CB clearing it off the line. It’s his first season in the Prem, he’s catching up to speed and he is learning the demand of the Prem. While Javi continues to play Deulofeu as a striker, Sema is all we have outwide.

I get it there are players that frustrate us but some of the abuse our fans give our own players is ridiculous.

    Anyway, rant over.

On the plus side Everton lost and Silvaout is trending again. Albeit the ref did whatever he could to help Everton equalize. 4mins injury time turned into 8mins somehow.

The only positive from that is that we only have to play that bunch of ****s once a season at home. ******* hell they make Stoke under Mark Hughes look like Brazil 1970.

First prize on the raffle is a season ticket to watch Burnley. 2nd prize is two season tickets.

Dont even get me started on Ashley Barnes (****). Or Michael *******-Oliver (********).

I have already started to drink heavily.

I said prior to kick off this would be worse than Newcastle. At least their goal was disallowed. After their cheating it felt like some form of justice

I think the one thing Javi did get wrong today was not subbing Sema off for Gray and shoving Gerard out wide. Apart from that, with the injuries we had (including Kiko's), there was little else we could change up. I don't rate Success at all and wouldn't mind seeing rumours of him leaving on loan somewhere.

I was offered a ticket to the game this morning. My text back? No you're alright mate, it's Burnley. I was fully expecting them to score early and timewaste for 80+ minutes. Even a free drink couldn't tempt me to watch them at home.

Yeah, the trust of his teammates. Watch as player after player refuses to pass to him unless there's literally no other option. And even then it's touch and go if they will.

Yes; hit it hard and hit it earlier. It's a common mistake for strikers to take the ball too close to the keeper, it's often a lack of confidence thing.
Might be worth pointing out both keepers made a couple of good saves. Were we watching the two best English goalkeepers currently playing?

Well if that Burnley goal had been given it would have summed up our day.

Missed a couple of great chances early on but generally were very lacklustre and devoid of pace/ideas against a strong physical side good at their jobs which was breaking play up and preventing any momentum in the game
    .
Not one to live long in the memory but least we didn't lose.

Lets hope Doucouré is just injured.

The disallowed goal isn't an issue. One of our players was clearly fouled on the touchline right in front of the linesman in the build up to that goal which Dyche forgets

What on earth was Sema doing with his early effort that was cleared off the line? Just sort of wafted a foot at it and allowed the defender to get it away. Absolute garbage effort from about six years out.

  22. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

Succes is just Sema with added diving. To be fair, Success was fouled a bit today and did galvanise us for a few seconds after he came on, but then he reverted to aimless, brainless runs.

    He's a **** footballer. Sema is worse.

Kabasele was terrible today, Cleverley wasn't great, however the absolute prize dog terd in the red bin, was Pereyra. Shocking non-performance. People giving him licence because of service, are deceiving themselves - he had plenty of chances to get on the ball - he just made absolutely nothing happen.

I don't think Mapps was as bad as others have said, but maybe he looked better to me, compared to awful, awful Kabasele.

It's extremely worrying how 3 injuries and we suddenly look so awful. At times our squad looks strong, but as soon as it's tested, it seems to be an illusion.

Javi needs a plan B. When games are clearly not going our way, as today, we need to be able to change it around, because we were out of the game from 15 minutes on and never really got to grips with Burnley after that.

I hope that the injured players are back soon. I hope we get one or two first team ready players in before the end of Jan. I hope Javi learns from this debacle.

We're 7th and, on paper, we're on decent form, but I can't help thinking it's all a bit emperor's new clothes. We were poor vs. Palarse and worse today. We've not played that well in many games, but I suppose to be 7th after the halfway point, there must be something about us. Resilience? I think we're all pretty sure we'd have lost today's game in years gone by.

Overall, another point gained. We go away, regroup and we come again.

He has done nothing to suggest he deserves first team football at this level. It's a miracle he's got the assists and stats to his name, which hopefully mean we can get a reasonable fee from Derby or similar for him. He's drastically out of his depth at Premier League level. No pace, one footed, no skill. Admittedly he tries a bit, but ultimately, that's not enough. He's gash.

But for Ben Foster we'd probably be a few points worse off I have to admit.

Wasn't a game for our flair players and the defence looked so weak and timid against the Burnley power houses - bit like Rondon of Newcastle.

Brighton will probably be the same (and I am going..) - strong in defence, hard in midfield and someone like Murray up front to bully us around.

We'd rather play an Everton or Leicester.

Maybe could have put Gray on to see if was up for doing something against his old team...

EDIT: Yes - just been on their forum and some say it was a decent game/performance against a tough side etc.

Mind you it probably was compared to their previous form before Xmas.

We've been grinding the points and at this stage of the season, it is important we continue to do so, whatever team we face. Sema, Pereyra and Success have been very poor in the last few games and there is nothing Javi can do due to the lack of quality in our squad depth. Proper signings need to be made and I can see why we are being linked with numerous wingers as it is clear that our current ones aren't very good consistently. Fortunately, we have been getting the results somehow.

I believe it was his right leg he was wafting. You know, the one with nothing on the end of it.

I'm hoping his old manager from Sweden decides he wants him at Swansea this month.

What a dreadful bunch of anti-football Neanderthals.

    1st tactic Long ball

    2nd tactic Even longer ball

3rd tactic Give it to the goalie to kick it long

4th tactic Kick anybody who has the ball

5th tactic Push or grapple any anyone who is attempting to head a ball

The only decent Burnley player was Tom Heaton, who made a couple of terrific saves to prevent the footballing team from winning.

Thank God we only play them twice a season.

I cant remember us playing that badly this season. Luckily Burnley are crap so we got a point out of it. We got lucky today if we had played almost any other team in the league we would have lost today easily. At least we are still getting those points on the board.

They really must watch crap football eachweek. It was the most boring match I have watched live, the clock couldn't go quick enough for me. I was genuinely relieved that it was over when the final whistle went because it was that boring.

  31. Reading the comments, am I literally the only one who thought Kensema played well today???

I'd have hooked off Delboy instead and left Sema on. Deulofeu had an absolute shocker. Missed 1 on 1. Missed a free header. Maybe a close curled effort from outside the box save him. Sema had the right back in his pocket.

Other than that what an utterly dull game. They wanted us dragged down to their level and we obliged wholeheartedly and with full effectiveness.

Got my free drink in less time than it usually take s to get a pint pre match. Bizarre as queue much longer.

Not a great game. But it’s Burnley and we are Watford. It’s always going to be 0-0 or 0-1 to them. The team and Bench looked uninspiring. Bringing success on was good for a while. Light in midfield throughout Pleased we didn’t lose actually we usually seem to against them, especially as cold and drizzle.

Why did dyche keep using two fingers to point at his head. It was bizarre.

After running rings around them, by passing and moving, for 10 minutes, why the F*** did we think that resorting to Burnleys turgid tactics and way of playing was going to help us ?

The moment he stuck Success on you could see the way the game was going.

Bloody awful waste of an afternoon

It was the old adage today that you have to fight for the right to play

After the first few minutes we were out fought and bullied and I just had the impression that Burnley wanted it more

It was a throwback to visits of Stoke/Wba with Pulis. Timewasting, hoofing Angeles hope that you nick a goal which they very nearly did.

Noticeable today that no one showing for the ball . Although Doucoure not been great at times this season he is always looking for the ball and driving the team forward. Cleverley started well but poor for much of the game and what is the position with Chalobah? Has he had a set back or just out of favour?

At least not a defeat. We go again.
