Uff it’s going to be a long season having to watch all these exciting young talents in a side properly coached and managed rather than all the expensive prima donnas in a team playing hoof ball to an immobile Number 9. Hope Mark Noble isn’t keeping an eye on us pre-season btw. Both our goals scored by young talent West Ham let go!
Started pretty well, look much better going forward and a lot more solid at the back. Spurs have been poor considering they have started with a decent line up.
Really don't things look that bad at all Line-up for Friday could well be Foster Ngakia Wilmot Dawson Kabasele Estupinan Hughes Capoue Quina Luis Suarez Gray Bachmann Masina Cathcart Chalobah Cleverley João Pedro Murray Not a lot wrong with that in the Champ (someone is bound to point to Gray)
Just to confirm, is it still correct that if we lose then it's just a pre-season friendly and nothing about it matters, but if we win it's a sure sign we're on for a good season? That's usually how it works, right?
In what world are you suddenly seeing that all of Foster, Capoue, Hughes and Suarez magically appear in our line up in 6 days from now? Every single one of them has been linked away, the first three haven't kicked a ball or been seen in pre-season and Suarez isn't even in the squad for our final friendly. It'll be the same line-up as today and we'll get a good old reality check.
I think the same sort of side we had vs Scunthorpe. Might see a slight reshuffle but it's more getting fitness up over the result. If we win brilliant, but I'm more concerned about no potential injuries with our first game so close now.
Yes - maybe Cathcart coming in. On the back foot now but probably to be expected. Getting stuck in a lot.
If we win or draw then all your negativity of the last 24 months will be wrong and the positive posters will have been proved correct.
I’m not remotely bothered about the result today. I’d have swapped any win today for one in the league against Spurs last season, as two extra points from one of those draws would have kept us up. What I’m watching out for this afternoon is formation, style of play, tactics, confidence levels etc. And as I write, so far so good. For these 90 mins I’m not even stressing about who isn’t playing end ergo who therefore might be leaving. Or rumours about potential incomings often spread by agents or clueless newspaper reports. I’m interested who is playing today, and there have been some promising signs.
I can't wait to see Gray score 12 penalties this season with 3 from open play and 453 chances missed. The new Deeney. "I told you he'd be immense in the Championship!", they'll say.
Wtf is going on? This is half the quality we had against Liverpool and were so far sticking it to Maureen? Ivic touch.
Ngakia has been everywhere. Encouraging! Expect the 2nd half to be all over the place due to subs but that showed fight, intelligence and quality. Believe in Ivic
LOL at all the pre-match negativity. This side needs a lot of work but I'm loving the direction it's going.
Yeah - In his slacks and sports jacket. Wandering round right in with the players, though didn't look like anyone was talking to him.
Perhaps. Or maybe, just maybe, that's slightly over the top. The club have said that those that want away won't feature in pre-season friendlies, yet Suarez has. Foster, Capoue and Hughes may not have done, however if Hughes is injured (missed that) then that explains him, whilst Capoue and Foster have both featured in the clubs media activities, Foster actively so and implying he will be here. It's also highly probable that if they were in play you wouldn't risk playing them a week before the opening game. We may get a reality check on Friday, but we equally may not and see them all feature (though again, probably not Hughes by the sound of it).
