This is a good piece on the Udinese squad, seems they have rather a lot of midfielders (I count 14 names there for 5 positions) which I hope we can benefit from http://www.udineseblog.it/index.php...-sette-giorni-al-via-come-sta-la-squadra.html
Even more impressive is the apparent market value being 120m, even though some of those figures are drastically wrong (Vydras value as 3m for example)
Rumors and Udine's newspaper say that Angella and Faraoni will play for Watford next season. If that becomes true seems very good for the english club, they are good players. I am surprised for Angella because other rumors say that Benatia and Danilo will be sold ...so if we give away also Angella we need to buy 3 defensive players and not just substitute Danilo with Angella.... for Faraoni i am not very happy because i like Faraoni a lot, he played well every match he played last season for me, and he has very very good feet. Anyway if they really move to Watford for sure they make the team stronger
Thanks for the heads up Stefano. Lets hope they do come, and then we can do our best to send them back to you as improved players and hopefully with Championship winners medal round their necks
Granada actualization: In: Brahimi (was on loan, 2,3 million €), Riki (0€), Iturra (0€), Piti (0€) Off: Nolito (back from loan), Recio (back from loan), Torje (Back from loan), Ighalo (back from loan), Iñigo Lopez (0€)
Just seen the 5-year comparison of transfers for serie A on transfermarket. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/serie-a/transferentwicklung/wettbewerb_IT1.html :sign13: Anyway, it must be noted that Udinese cannot count on millions of fans buying shirts or going to stadium and has a minor share from TV rights, so that impressive difference between sold and bought is what makes us go on with a sound budget. Probably, during the same 5 years, just for TV rights, Udinese received less than 100M£ and Juventus more than 400M£. So the big clubs can easily afford to be in red with transfers.
Two official news today, both quite good. Alexandre Coeff (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/alexandre-coeff/profil/spieler_89450.html) signed for Udinese, from RC Lens. Official from Lens website (http://www.rclens.fr/infos_2013/07/13_coeff-depart/index.php#ancreContenu). Lenght of contract, 5 years, from the player's tweets. Transfer fee unknown so far. The "telenovela" Benatia-to-Rome is finally ended, with an official statement from AC Roma (who must disclose all info as it is a listed company), and the deal is better than I could hope. Benatia was sold for 13.5M€, and at the same time Udinese acquired 50% (with the rights to have in team) of Nico Lopez (for 2.5M€) and Valerio Verre (for 1M€). So, it's 10M€ cash, and half of a quite undervalued Nico Lopez, after what he's shown (AFTER deal was sealed) at FIFA U20 World Cup (he was named second best player in tournement behind Pogba), and half of a quite promising young CM. Brilliant! http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/nicolas-lopez/profil/spieler_185593.html http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/valerio-verre/profil/spieler_162961.html
Sherlock, if/when Watford get promoted, how big do you think the equality of the TV money would be for the Pozzos? Udinese obviously are doing very well compared to the earnings of many other clubs, outperforming many despite a significantly lower income. With a far more even distribution of money in the Premier League, how high do you think they'll be aiming?
I'm crossing my finger and doing whatever other scaramantic gestures you can think of, because this year, after a few seasons with quite positive budget thanks to good sells, we have kept basically intact the team that ended last season with 8 consecutive wins finishing 5th and have reinforced it with quite some good new players. But for three years, when everyone said we had dismantled the team selling three of the best players, we surprised everyone with a brilliant season. Now I'm divided between the hope that this year we might aim even higher and the fear that just when we "seem" stronger than ever we'll have a disastrous season.
Another one from Ghana and from the FIFA U20 World Cup. According to some rumours deal done for a 5 year contract with Udinese for Moses Odjer, 16YO (http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/moses-odjer/profil/spieler_262595.html), who was quite good during the Cup. Just as a reminder, other players from the U20: - Christian Bravo (Chile) was already "ours" since last year, on loan to a Croatian minor team and now he plays in Granada B, Spain third division. (a note: now Granada B is in the same division where Granada A was just 4 years ago :sign15. - Nico Lopez (Uruguay), named second best player in the Cup, arrived to Udinese (50% ownership) as partial compensation for Benatia. - Clifford Aboagye (Ghana), named third best player in the Cup. No official confirmation yet, but it seems 99% sure that Udinese bought him and he'll be too on loan to Granada B. Edit P.S.: this is his goal at the Cup. Not bad for technique and courage for a 16YO in a crucial quarter-final. The lad seems promising for the future. I don't know if any truth in that, but a rumour says that 2 young players from the Primavera (U20) team of Genoa have signed for Watford. Source: http://www.tuttoudinese.it/watford/due-giovani-per-rafforzare-la-rosa-11629 Players: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/lorenzo-gallotti/profil/spieler_242242.html http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/guido-bennati/profil/spieler_214003.html
According to http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/udinese/?action=read&idnet=dHV0dG91ZGluZXNlLml0LTEyMDUw Granada is very near to signing on loan Dimitri Foulquier (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/dimitri-foulquier/profil/spieler_170472.html), right back in the France U20 which won the world cup. Should be a loan with option to buy for 3M€.
Yeah, Foulquier may sign tomorrow and Recio has come today on loan again so, if we sell Siqueira (seems we had sell him today but it wont be oficial until Bale goes to Madrid), we will only need a wing man (Not for flirting).
Madrid needs Bale like a "distraction" because they are playing so bad. Also, is the obsession of Florentino Perez. After a summer trying to sign him, they need to make it official now, if they sign Siqueira, people can be nervous and start saying that Siqueira is just because Bale isn't coming. Also, when Bale arrives to Madrid, Real Madrid is going to sell Coentrao, then, they will sign the replacement: Siqueira. People say that Siqueira has been sold on 6-8M euros and, if by any reason Real Madrid can't sell Coentrao, he will stay one more year on loan in Granada. So, until Bale is in Madrid and Coentrao is moving out, Siqueira wont be official. Also, Pina said last night that we are going to sell Siqueira "yes or yes" this summer. He also said that we have some offers for Siqueira but none of Real Madrid (people thinks is just a move so, if we receive a better offer great, if not, he is moving to Madrid).
Rumour: According to http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/udinese/?action=read&idtmw=489671 no problems for long term contract renewal do Piotr Zielinki. His current contract expires in June 2014 according to http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/piotr-zielinski/profil/spieler_181136.html (by the way, his estimated market value has risen impressingly. It was 300.000€ in January, became 3M€ in June!). It seems that several English clubs are interested, from Premier and Championship. But in January he should either stay at Udinese OR, if it's better for his growth (to have more game-time than here, where the number of forward or attacking midfielders is maybe excessive), he might go to WFC. Time will say if true, I guess.
1) Isaac Success, one of the best strikers in the U17 Nigeria team that just won the World Cup (he had "only" 2 goals and 2 assist in the tournement, because he played only the first 2 matches due to injury) has confirmed in an interview that he has already signed. http://www.nigeriafootball.com/article,1833,Isaac-Success-signed-contract-with-Udinese 2) Both Giaretta (Udinese's sporting director) and the player's agent have stated in interviews that Zielinski has a long term contract with Udinese and his contract is NOT expiring in 2014.
- Coeff wants to know if he is going to play, if not, he wants to leave on loan in winter. He is, right now, the 4th defender in rotations. - Jona (Honduras, on loan in Jaen CF) has scored 9 goals in 16 matches. He is going to be at Brazil 2014 if Honduras classify. Granada CF is thinking to return him to Granada next year. Madrid and Barcelona want them for their B team. He was bought just by 20.000€. - Murillo said: "I'm going to be next year in Granada CF too, im not leaving but if I receive a 'need to accept' offer". Colombia mister had talked to him, he said him he may go to Brazil 2014.
Rumours (some said to be almost sure) about next incoming players: - Charles Aranguiz (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/charles-aranguiz/profil/spieler_89701.html?from=direktErgebnis) was already partially of Udinese, should arrive but it's still unsure if he'll go on loan to another Italian team or in a south-american team. - Alexis Zapata (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/alexis-zapata/profil/spieler_263027.html?from=direktErgebnis) is said to be sure, probably will go on loan to Sassuolo (low in serie A) to make experience. - Johnny Vidales (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/johnny-vidales/profil/spieler_224677.html) very likely. - Edenilson (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/edenilson/profil/spieler_169052.html) highly likely. Udinese cannot keep more than one more extra-EU, so if they all come they'll go on loan or at Granada. Also it appears that already have signed two young players from Ecuador: - Kevin Mercado (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/kevin-mercado/profil/spieler_189482.html?from=direktErgebnis) going to Granada. - Gabriel Corozo (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/gabriel-corozo/profil/spieler_263601.html?from=direktErgebnis) joined Udinese Primavera.
No idea, but IIRC rules about extra-EU players in England, he's the only one of those above who might qualify for a VISA as he's full international for Chile (but I don't know if he played in 75% of latest matches as required).
Matias Campos left Granada CF. He wasn't in a single convocatory (not even in Cup). Seems we can buy Thievy (Espanyol), give on loan Coeff and Bougaidis (this one from Granada B) and maybe sell Buonanotte to Newells.
Interesting. Today watching on twitter for "Udinese" I found news about one of the MANY players out on loan (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/udinese-calcio/verliehen/verein_410.html) that I had completely forgotten. Jaime Romero (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/jaime-romero/profil/spieler_81998.html), after seasons on loan to Bari, Granada and Trabzonspor, went on loan this summer to Real Mardid Castilla (AKA Real Madrid B team). Looks like he's playing decently, given he's played most of the matches so far being in starting 11 (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/jaime-romero/leistungsdaten/spieler_81998.html). Today for the friendly Real Madrid - PSG in Quatar, given the absence of Bale for injury, he was called from the "B" team to fill the 23-men team. In second half he was called from the bench as a sub for CR7 and, according to reports (http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2014/01/02/primera/1388678580_297926.html) had a decent debut. Nice news!
