I may be wrong but by my calculations we're three over 21 players over the squad limit as things stand. Pantilimon plus two others to be sold/loaned/exiled...

 

Yep, discounting Hoban due to injury we have 28 first team, over 21 players. That includes 19 foreign players, so at least 2 of the 3 that are sold/exiled have to be foreign.

I think that’ll be it for incomings. Would love Gaitan and/or Dragovic but that would leave an awful lot of outgoings to be made in a few hours and all needing to be overseas players!

 

Stupid question, can we loan players to Spanish teams tomorrow as there window is still open or does the window shutting count for both ins and outs

 

Two deadline day loans from Udinese smells strongly of missing out on other targets to me. Still, Karnezis is quality and Wague could be OK so doesn't matter.

 

Can we just go completely mental and get another winger and striker too, please?

 

After we missed out on Neto early in the window, I don't remember us going after any other GK in earnest. Karnezis is quality as well, like you said

Wague and Zeegelaar, agreed, temporary squad signings until we can sort both positions properly

 

Both have pace which is something we were seriously lacking.

 

Outgoings are still possible.

 

We’ve covered the positions we needed to today but not with the quality many would have liked. I’d still love a last minute swoop for Gaitan but it’s very unlikely.

If that’s it for the day, my personal view is we’ve had a great window that has been marginally let down by the lack of a top quality signing today and not upgrading the First XI defensive choices.
