Imagine the scenario where Ince takes over at SW, and Tom signs for us. Then we and SW are neck and neck to avoid relegation and Tom has a few really poor games at the death .... !!

 

Personally I would rather you keep those kind of thoughts to yourself, I am trying to enjoy retirement!

 

Isn't Manga supposedly putting a lot of importance in the character of our signings? Maybe Ince ha's become more professional but I thought he was meant to be a bit of a tw@.

Two year deal, not going to pretend to be delighted at this one but can cover a number of positions with sufficient intensity, and does score goals.

It doesn't seem that long ago that we were signing players like Roberto Pereyra. Could be worse, I suppose.... we might have got his old man in as manager

 

Solid 10 goal a season experienced attacking player. I think this is a decent bit of business and more the way I would prefer Watford to recruit. I’m all for unknown Johnny Foreigner but not every signing and last year we were shown up badly for it.

 

He isn't Keinan Davis or Ray Manaj, that's a plus.

Exactly the sort of domestically experienced signing many were imploring us to make when instead it seemed we were only interested in punts from far-flung corners of the footballing world.

And as regards to a word that rhymes with punt, he may or may not be one but we don't have to have dinner with him. We only need hope he performs well for our team. If he does, this will be a smart piece of business.
