At the risk of getting myself flayed alive, I actually quite like Kenilworth Road. It's a dump, of course, but it's got character and is, in my view anyway, a better place to watch football than, say, Leicester, Reading, West Ham etc

 

It's got character but a pretty horrible character. It's the Nasty Nick or Kevin Spacey of football stadiums.

 

I think they'll probably end up in the c30pt range, which won't be enough to stay up but will be far from embarrassing. But there's always a worrying prospect they could just do enough to stay up if all the stars align a bit like with Huddersfield a few years back.

 

Unfortunately there are so many sh1te teams in the EPL this season that I don't think it's a given that the scummers will go down. That said, I'm pretty optimistic that they will - I just like to see them totally humiliated and I'm not sure that's going to happen. Still, fingers crossed...

 

Much of their strength is their teamwork and camaraderie. The first few games will be so important. A few hammerings and that could all fall apart. Promoted teams tend to start well due to the momentum from previous season. We just need to hope that initial positivity gets destroyed asap.

 

Heard from someone I work with who knows their commercial director that they got promoted 2 years into a 5 year plan to get a new stadium and PL football. I think they essentially said they're still sticking to that 5 year plan and using this season as a big cash injection for the plan... Seems by their signings they're taking the old Burnley/Norwich plan of signing very good championship players so that when they go down they'll be primed to go straight back up.

That's all well and good but not sure it works if you get beat 5-0 every week (which is what i'm clinging on to).

 

Yeah, I mean it only went downhill after we sacked him and I never agreed with his sacking in the first place.

We did seem to cling on for dear life during our games under him, but that's the players more than anything.

 

I think he’s already done that but it is spelled out in Italian.

 

Really? It was pretty rubbish barring a couple of good results. He was never going to get a tune out of our bunch of misfits.

 

It really wasn't. It was mostly dreadful

 

Very confusing why they didn't do a short term deal with MK for 2 months like Spurs did a few years ago. Better that than fixture congestion later on.

Scummers gonna scum.

Not a big surprise that they were charged given the feral behaviour from their fans during the game, but not to comply with the investigation and provide the requested evidence is an unexpected low.

 

Hopefully another 30pt deduction incoming.

 

The team sheet is the not so subtle hint.
