You cannot judge any teams from the first couple of games. We know that having had an excellent start last season. Everton can only be judged when they come to play the so called elite to see if Silva has eliminated the defensive frailties that seem to dog all of the sides he has managed as we well know. Wolverhampton look impressive and were extremely unfortunate to lose at Leicester. They have played excellent expansive football and Fulham are not out of their depth either. Which means that is imperative we build some form and accumulate points quickly which can only help later in the season. So long as we do not experience an injury crisis of similar proportions to last season.

I might be wrong, but I don’t remember people on here genuinely comparing him to Ronaldo and Rivaldo after 2 games.

That’s so true, but it’s the modern hyped fashion I’m afraid. We have league tables after 2 games and people react by saying Arsenal & West Ham are in crisis because they have no points. The lie to this was given just last year when Palace made the worst start in football history: no points or goals in seven games, but still stayed up easily. And who can forget our own start in 2000 when we were unbeaten in the first 15 games, taking 39 points, but still failed to make the play-offs by some distance.

There seem to be three types of manager this season: the Pep, the Allardyce & the Silva.

Play out from the back, grind it out & expansive going forward/shaky in defence, determined primarily by the wage bill.

Worrying if ‘best of the rest’ Lesta are now in the middle category.

Great entertainment provided by Emery’s attempts to be cool & pass it around the back five yesterday. Easier to train a donkey to play the piano.

Filbert, how will you be spending Saturday afternoons this year?

Puel’s style manages to be tediously dull and conservative yet wide open at the back. Doesn’t make for pleasant viewing. I’d have been well chuffed with him being replaced back in May but now we’re stuck with him so I’m just left hoping it can click. The spectre of Allardyce is looming large over the city should we not put a run of wins together.

As for the best of the rest thing, the club has blown the opportunity of establishing us as the perennially over achieving underdog a la Atletico Madrid. Anyways, I could write a (badly written) book on how the club had ****ed the last two seasons up.

Me and lovely fiancé have just finished renovating a house, took a lot of blood and sweat but I loved it and want to do something similar, but now with the luxury of being a little more picky with what we buy. Ours is going on the market this week, the searching has begun. I’m going to find the house equivalent of a Mahrez, with any luck.

Brighton 1 up against Man Ure. Is love it if Man U lost.

I’ll be straight on to a friend who is an united fan and predicted that we would lose our first game to Brighton!

Maybe not. He still believes Lindelof and Bailly are good when it was Smalling and Jones I seem to remember that kept the clean sheets. So he may change it back.

West Brom also won their first 2 games last year including away to Burnley!

  12. I watched a bit of the United game, they played slow uninventive sideways football

This is the worst United team I can remember, probably since before SAF joined

If you have the time, I’d be fascinated to read your observations on the last 2 years.

Grammatically correct would be ideal although badly written quite acceptable.

What impressed from the sidelines was how LCFC got stronger as the season went on. Spurs away in Jan was a point where the chances of ‘it’ happening became real to a lot of people. Still a huge distance to the finishing line.

If only England could have performed like that.

Good luck with the house doing up. If you sell the next one for a Mahrez level £60m, bravo!

    Institutionally weak.

Pitiful recruitment leading to a squad stuffed full of lightweights. Mourinho has made them a circus.

    Long may this continue.

Some of their transfer business has been shambolic in the last few years.

They're a club who are badly lacking a coherent plan.

They need a Director of Football and a manager who fits the plan. Mourinho was an appointment which always screamed "short term". That cycle is very nearly over.

They'll still finish in the top 4, but Man City and Liverpool are both light years ahead of United, even if Mourinho manages to park the bus and grind out a couple of decent results against them.

Woodward seems desperately out of his depth.

A callow amateur compared to Pozzo.

What price Sssssilva inbound to Old Trafford in the next 12 months?

I fail to see why Man Utd fans are surprised.
Everyone knows the kind of football Jose produces.
He was quite simply the worst fit for United with their heritage of cavalier attacking football.

Loving the radio phone ins today with the Man Utd fans, (all with London accents), calling for Mourinho's head after 1 defeat. Then there are the "experts" who are saying it's already a 2 horse race when Liverpool have only played 1 game.

Was very satisfying seeing palace and zaha get upset over not winning free kick for Milner challenge, then Milner scores. Palace playing this game at 100 miles an hour isn't going to work out well for them. The c**ts.
