I see Burnley are going to bore everyone to death this season...Dyche is the new Pulis/Fat Sam

Absolutely this. As a person, Dyche is in a different league to the wine-pint-swiller. But his football is the modern day version - Allardyce 2.0. Next week's game up there is going to be awful.

Yet Allardyce managed to get the England job playing like this, so don't rule out Dyche. Deadly serious - if we are to see a former Hornet get the role after Southgate, I'd rather it be Boothroyd out of the two:eek:.

WHU showing that you can spend as much money as you want, but when you come up against one of the big hitters in the league it’s just ******* in the wind.

It will be 1-0 Burnley - Vydra scoring.

This is why Everton fans didn't want Dyche when he was being linked .

West Ham were all at sea at the back, hope they stick with three at the back.

Wish it wasn't so long until we play arsenal. They are bloody awful. Can barely pass to their own players all game.

I'm sure Dyche would have done pretty well, but it would have basically been a continuation of Allardyce. Albeit in a more likeable person.

Silva comes with more risks, but I'd rather watch a Silva team than a Dyche one

I find myself in the unusual position of wanting Man City to win every game they play this season, since I think they're the only side who will be capable of stopping Liverpool winning the league

Yes agree with that last line.

I think today's game just proved that.

Could have been Liverpool/Man City v anyone.

No doubt the Arsenal and West Ham fans are having a good old moan already!

Why after watching Arsenal v Man City am I now watching souness and neville on sky discussing bloody Liverpool????

NO ONE ******* CARES ABOUT LIVERPOOL EXCEPT LIVERPOOL SUPPORTERS.

Sky clearly desperately trying to appease the scouse snowflakes as much as the BBC generally do.

I like Liverpool's team this year, but then listening the die hard londoner Liverpool fan on Talksport driving today made me remember how much I want Man City, Arsenal, Spurs or even Man Utd or Chelsea to beat them.

The team is great. I like Klopp. The fans are unbearable and it overrides everything.

Agreed. Anything to knock them out of the top 4 is ok with me.

Lump in them to give us a seeing to next weekend. I can’t imagine Claudiola will know what to do with them.

    They played 4-5-1.

Felipe Anderson looked promising for them, but I still very much doubt they'll even reach 7th.

Southampton will be very boring as well - 3-6-1 with full-backs as wing-backs and two pretty defensive CMs.

To be honest, Everton with 11 men and sometimes with 10, had their number...Wolves were pretty in possession but weren't hurting Everton. Couldn't see them scoring and it took a good free kick. Had Silva had any defensive nouse, they would have managed the game to victory.

I thought you deserved a point at Manure and can see you beating Wolves - I really wasn't impressed with them.

Obviously one game is too early to tell. I think that West Ham would do quite well, just hard luck that their first fixture was away at the only team half capable of finishing above Man City.

Huddersfield, Cardiff and Brighton all look poor. Despite how boring Burnley and Southampton are, they will hoof their way to survival.

I think us, Palace, Muff and Newcastle are much of a muchness and the 4 of us will finish relatively comfortable.

Fulham looked poor as well, and Sessegnon will be found to have been massively over-rated.

Liverpool had the better of Man City in the champions league and completely out played them in their 2nd league game. They can genuinely win the league if they don’t drop stupid points against crap teams again.

Regarding Spurs and their new stadium; I thought the deal was that if they played more than one game at Mrs Wembley ('just the one') they would be penalised.
Did I dream this or can anyone shed some light please?

If richarlison does well we get £50m it would seem, and he didn't want to play for us after his dad left.

We got a great deal, I hope he hits all of the bonuses in the deal, we make a ton, he moves on for £70m and we bank another 10% for the sell on :)

Penalised in what sense? I think they've had to take up the option they had with the FA to play more games at Wembley until the end of the year. No doubt that's come at great expense and they'll be paying even if they move into their new ground sooner. But they're not going to be penalised by the PL or anything. Making them play in a shed with lights would see them go full Luton. And no one wants to go full Luton.

I heard it said on SSN or maybe 5L that they would only be allowed to play one game this season at Wembley.
If there were more they would be liable to a points deduction.

Richard Scudamore - "They’d have to play in the same stadium for the entire year," he said. "For the integrity of the competition. You can’t have 19 home games with 10 at Milton Keynes and nine at Wembley – completely, completely unfair. That won’t be allowed in our competition."

This was from this article, three years ago: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jul/17/tottenham-premier-league-richard-scudamore-wembley

It seems as if they've since relented on this, probably after Levy handed over a brown paper bag stuffed full of banknotes.

It isn't right that they appear to be allowed to switch to the new stadium as soon as it's ready, meaning some teams will play them at Wembley and others at the new place. For the sake of fairness, every team that plays them away should do so at the same stadium. Can't believe they're seemingly going to be allowed to switch half way through the season, especially after what Scudamore originally said:mad:.

I kind of agree with you in terms of the purity of the competition, but is it really unfair? Do you consider it to be easier for teams to play Spurs at Wembley rather than WHL, or the other way round?

    a19tgg First Team

I don’t see the issue. If anything it may take Spurs a little while to settle into their own ground like WHU, or they may play better once in their own home. Either way for the away team it’s playing Spurs in a ground that isn’t their own, I’m not sure who will be advantaged/disadvantaged?

Yes, but it's equally unfair that teams benefit from an opponent's suspension because of something that happened in a game they weren't involved in. That's life

I meant it from from a 'science experiment' point of view - where you keep the variables the same so that you can compare results fairly between each tested subject. At the end of the season, some teams will have played Spurs away at Wembley, some at the new stadium, and some possibly at a third ground due to Wembley being booked up for a certain date that clashes with a home fixture.

For fairness towards all the other teams, they should all have to play Spurs away at the same place. I don't know who it favours, only that some teams will face a different challenge from others, which I don't believe is right.

Good point - but that's always been the case. With this issue, Scudamore seems to have changed his view on what's allowed, after originally saying it wouldn't be. If Spurs play one game at Wembley, then I believe that is where all their home fixtures should then take place for the rest of the season for the reasons mentioned above. Just my opinion, though:).

With our game not on until Sunday, I suspect I'll watch another match on Saturday afternoon. Which do you lot think will be the most interesting game out of:
    Spurs vs Fulham
    West Ham vs Bournemouth
    Leicester vs Wolves
    Sssnakes vs Saints
    ?

Probably not the Snakes one as I suspect they'll win. It'd be good to watch Muff get beat, though Spam looked bobbins vs Liverpool.
