Is that not usual for a football team to all wear the same kit?

It's a kick about league, everyone in kit and these guys looked pro, we will be taking note and I will be performing Viv Wright's Half time team talk from Dream Team next week as we prepare to face 'Team Lemonade'

Oh not serious, ok. Do the hakka etc.

Yesterday i went to a philosophy social and started chatting to a few girls etc and met a nice italian girl. They had a cool deal at the bar where if you order spirits they flip a coin and if you guess right you get the same again free. In the end i got 2/3 right so ended up having 5 vod and mixers for just £9. In london you'd be lucky to get 2 drinks for £9.

    Logical form: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_form

Brackets are similar to maths, yeah, but think of htem as dealing with scope. Brackets cordon off scope of the logical operators.

Which textbook are you using? We had a similar thing as well I think with perhaps both the textbooks we ended up using through my time doing logic over two years. Long, long list of errata. If I recall correctly, they were errors within the exercises in the book though, where formulas had been written slightly wrong (and so would be impossible to do in some cases), rather than the main content teaching the principles of logic.

Was trying to scam some ideas on the internet for my Philosophy exam yesterday. All went wrong when they started using those brackets etc. Didn't have time to learn those as well.

Going on a class trip to see the new Bond film next week, which is useful as the Bond franchise forms part of a couple modules, and looks like Skyfall's going to be pretty good!

it has occurred to me you are saying 'i was chatting to this girl' quite a few times yet you are seeking help
do you think maybe you're actually okay but just dramatising (is that a word?) the whole situation, which was led on by this thread and you've just convinced yourself you're not good with girls?

also, if your new room mate can get you into kick boxing then go for it. you'll feel more like a man and it will boost your confidence with the ladies, as well as impress them

And if not, you can roundhouse any girls who turn you down.

No I can talk to girls but from there I can't do anything.

I met an italian girl at the social and she started talking to me on fb today and invited me to a movie on sunday with another guy and to the film society and an optional eastern philosophy private seminar thingy.

I think shes after my salami...

    Yes you can!

Simms - just have a casual chat with her. Find some common ground between you two and take it from there. Don't overcomplicate things, it's really not that difficult.

I can flirt and things and I probably could go on to take it from there but only 1 girl has ever flirted back properly that I was sure of. But yeh thanks.

I'm sure more than one has flirted with you. Either you didn't realise that other girls were flirting with you, or they were trying to but they weren't very good at it.

This thread has been going for over a year and you still can't pull. You're a lost cause.

Ok thanks. I think I understand.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logic-An-In...0686/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350598167&sr=8-1 is the book we're using. Think it might be the same book then because there are errors in the examples and exercises.

I have no idea what scope is?

Simms, don't think just do. It will all fall into place if you don't think.

I am not an economist, but reading this thread, I've drawn a logical conclusion. Simms needs to pay for sex.

How much money have you spent on going out, buying drinks, spending time with girls? Let's conservatively say £1000 over the past year. I suspect it's far more.

I don't know how much a prossie is in Cardiff, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't get nuts in at least 15 times for that sum and with a different bird each time. What's more, there's no messy afters. Just a hand shake and the conclusion of a business transaction.

    Get punting Simms.

My birthday today, going out to Brighton with housemates, should be decent and skipping part of uni today for pre-drinks, should be good!

    Happy birthday don!

Did people find that first year was a joke, teaching-wise? Like easy and dumbed down, especially for business?

Heading down that way in December for a gig, suggestions welcome.

    Are you first year then?
At uni you will have people coing from all around the world and different education systems, there's different courses in the UK itself. So at first it'll be getting everyone up to speed on the same level.

    Happy Birthday Don.

First year is an absolute doss, you literally have to pass and that is it. First year is all about enjoying student life.

Yeah I know I get that, just certain things, such as today we had a lecture about culture. Literally all they told us was how different countries have different cultures, like food and manners etc. To me that's just common sense.

  32. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

I guess you are not doing the most demanding of degrees at the most elite of institutions then.

  33. ForzaWatford

That was in a Global perspectives of business lecture at herts. I'm doing business and sports joint honours. It's not the best uni, but it's not bad either. WIthout sounding arrogant, I could have gone to much better uni but I wanted to stay at home. I think it's a case of easing us in, but I did Business GCSE and A-level so it's just boring so far.

  34. simms

    simms vBookie

For us the first year was basically a repeat of A level because philosophy, and presumably business is not something that you necessarily had to study at A level before you were allowed to do it for a degree so they're catering for the people who didn't do it at A level.

If you already know it, you might as well put a bit of effort in and smash it instead of scraping 40%. If you want to appply for any wrok/experience internships next summer first year are the only results you have to go on.
