I'm sure similar was said when we slipped up against Ipswich at home in the run under Joka. Honestly can't believe the melodramatics on here!

Swansea losing is very good news considering their two games in hand .I wanted Cardiff to lose to be fair I want Barnsley to make the play offs.

Yeah, but how much longer could you stand the "We've got super NP " song, if fans' were back in the stadiums. :p

That had completely different context though. That was a MM managed Ipswich, we struggled to break them down but chucked the kitchen sink at them in the last minutes, and they got a lucky breakaway goal with the last kick. It was gutting at the time, but I personally remember thinking it was one of those things and was actually happy we’d been caught out trying to win the game.

This was a fairly pathetic performance which I don’t take any positives from at all.

It is not spot on at all we have won 4 games out of 5 why can't we bounce back and put another run together Brentford and Swansea were miles ahead and now we are only 3 points behind second spot Brentford had lost 3 in a row recently and Swansea lost 4-1 to Huddersfield last weekend and lost today to a team we beat 6-0 the other week.

Basically Brentford will be gaining back points they lost on us in the week.

Because we came up against an out of form Bournemouth with a rubbish manager and we were not not up to the task, we were tactically and mentally outthought. We’ve won one game against top 6 teams all season, and to get the automatic spots well more than likely need to win at least two of our last three games against them, which happen to all fall in our last four games. As it stands they all have more points than us or games in hand.

Woah.... 3-1 Bristol. Those games in hand for Swansea might have to save their auto hopes. Well done Nigel.

Swansea came up against a woeful Huddersfield and got spanked. Can we rule them out too? Brentford lost 3 games on the bounce, we haven't lost more than 1 in a row all season. Can we rule them out, too?

Teams have off days and poor results. Especially as we get close to the end of a long season with many midweek games, and nerves creep in. There's 39 points to play for and we're 3 points off 2nd.

Sorry but it's absolutely pathetic behaviour to be giving up already, and as @zztop said, I can only hope our squad aren't so defeatist.

So how does that mean Autos is gone? I am aware of how it currently stands but there are 13 games to go, Swansea are not in great form and are just a likely to lose those games in hand as they are to win them on current form and we are only 3 points behind Brentford who have Norwich at Carrow Road in Mid-week and we have Wycombe. Not sure what your logic is to suggest that the autos is gone though.

We’ve still taken the most points of anybody in 2021, along with Norwich who of course have played a game less.

Third in the 2021 form table are Forest, who without wishing to state the obvious, will be very tough opponents next weekend.

With Brentford playing Naarch and Swansea away to Stoke in the midweek games, a win against Wycombe could see a us back level with Brentford and 4 ponts clear of Swansea.

Of course they will probably both win and we will **** up against Wycombe.

But, at the moment, we still have a chance of second imo.

Most but the very optimistic amongst us believe it is now the play offs.
Once we put aside the feeling of missed opportunities from every aspect, player recruitment, appointment of coaches,we still have a chance, albeit one that makes us feel a little queasy!
Is it Norwich v Brentford and then Norwich v Swansea in the near future,I'm dizzy with looking at the forthcoming fixtures. Ah yes syd is correct it's Stoke v Swansea.
I suggest we all give up on first place and support the budgies in these fixtures or throw ourselves off a very tall building!

  21. I would laugh my **** off, would serve us right. It was ******* ludicrous to have fired him without even having a plan.

It’s not giving up, it’s just using the evidence in front of me and being realistic. Bournemouth aren’t very good at the moment, but instead of capitalising on it we did the exact opposite.

Three of our remaining four fixtures are against the there teams we’re competing against, one is miles ahead of us, one is three points ahead and the other is one behind, but with six extra points to play for compared to us. Our record against the top 6 is one solitary win this season, we’ll likely need two, at least from those last few games.

It’s not giving up, it’s just being realistic and using all available evidence, and to me that evidence suggests we’ll finish exactly where we’ve spent most of the season, for all the reasons highlighted above, just outside the top two.

  24. Because we are now relying on 2 teams imploding and us going on a run. If you can put together a reasoned argument for why that is likely to happen I'll listen.

Plenty of twists and turns to come. Hopefully bounce back and string another run together. We could of drew today but could of easily drew one of those wins in the North west which would of put us a point worse off.

Yes but my question was how does that mean the autos is gone? It simply don't. Plus I wouldn't say we are relying on teams imploding we need a few results to go our way but we are right in the mix.

  29. Remind me again who is playing 9 next match?

But most of the reasons you've given above can be applied, or adjusted to Brentford and Swansea, too. They've also had opportunities to cement their place in the top 2 and they've had poor results and poor performances.

Both also have some very tricky games upcoming but as you've seen over the past few weeks, I don't think the standard of opposition counts for *too* much at this stage. Brentford could easily beat Norwich away and then lose to Rotherham at home.
