If you were actually getting drunk every weekend at 13 i would have thought youd be in with a problem. But to be fair im 17 and at 13 me and a few other mates were binge drinking but it was literally only at parties. Im not sure if the fact you look older affects the damage or not?? Id say the fact you know its damaging puts you streets ahead of most people in my year when it comes to alcohol.

Having had some bad experiences with drinking (Wigan Away) and some good experiences (Bolton, Villa away and countless parties) I think it's more of a question of moderation.

However seeing as though you're 13 now you might not be ready. If you feel unsure about it my best advice is to wait a while until you feel better about it.

the only trouble with all this advice, while it is good advice, is peer pressure. Remember what it was like to be 13 and not be part of the crowd? Its all about fitting in with your peers...

if his peers are 18, then i doubt that he is part of the crowd.

true. i remember a day when i went to my boyfriend at the time´s house for a BBQ.... i was 14, he was 19 and his brother and all his mates were even older. I got so pissed trying to act cool that i blacked out, dont remember a thing about what happened... they dropped me off to my mum, rang the doorbell and legged it. my mums boyfriend had to put his fingers down my throat to make me sick... and my boyfriend dumped me!!!

thank god im over that phase!!

I got pretty wasted last night :p , but my view on underage drinking is to do it in moderation. Yes, go out have a laugh every now and again, but not every week. There are detremental effects to be seen if heavy drinking is done regularly. Im 16, your 13; i didnt drink alot when i was 13, and still dont drink too much now. At your age your body isn't really developed enough to handle excessive/regular drinking. Nobody will think "oh james isnt having a drink, what a poof/nerd". Your 13- most 13 year olds dont drink much, and your not expected to drink much either.
Im not saying dont drink, cos thats impossible ;D, but just be senisble about the amount you drink, and how often you do it, and you should be fine :)

its better to learn how to drink safely at a young age rather than going overbord and no undertsanding the affects when you are older

I agree. When young, you should be able to try in moderation alcahol, so then when it comes to the first part or something where alcahol is present, you dont go over the top and end up in a pile of sick :p
