Worst possible end to the day would be no Sarr, Doucoure to Everton for "£50m package" including Bolasie valued at £40m.....
You should check out some of the kits the kids wear in the Vicarage Road End as they ask their parents what the scores are for their real team is. The truth is out there.
Agree with what you are saying - if that’s the case we shouldn’t shop at Hugo Boss if we can only afford M&S prices it’s a waste of time and effort and suggests that we go to a Hugo Boss type player and try to convince them to put their best selling and most desirable item in the sale. Not going to happen. I can’t believe the likes of Muff, Brighton etc can afford to spend £50m+ and we can’t. Compared to LY - We had a better league position so more income, + additional £10-15m from FA Cup run + increased revenue in from new £25m sponsorship deal .... If we want to step up then perhaps we need to look at our transfer strategy and start looking at the David Brooke’s and Harry Wilson’s of this world instead ?
It’s easy to believe. Bournemouth have a rich Russian benefactor and Brighton’s owner is extremely wealthy. League placing and all the other stuff is largely irrelevant by comparison.
I reckon we'll sign both him and Sarr. That'll mean we have spent the same as the average PL club. ... hahahahahahhahaa, just kidding. We'll get a 'promising' 18 year old from the Ukrainian second division to provide competition for Sema.
Drop in the ocean we spent 5.5 of that on Craig 2. We cant compete with oil sheiks and ogliarchs ,so we have to be shrewd and clever and set limits and stick to them.
Wow yes. I'd always assumed they were the same. Next you'll be telling me Stevohorn lives there too. That's 17% of the total population of Norway, right here on this forum.
It's like when I found out that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Miller and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Brydon weren't the same person.
Preferred Sarr to this guy anyway...honest...no need to look at my previous posts on here...please don't.
I still think Bergwijn would have been slightly better, but I'd have been very surprised if we'd managed to get him.
I don't as the French league is a bit stronger, going on the tweets from Gooners they said it was a class signing as he ripped them apart in the Europa League.
Yeah but so did Sema once... I've seen Bergwijn play quite well both at international level and in the Champion's League.
He briefly mentioned it on SSN last night - and Di Marzio has just spoken again on TalkSport saying we are in again for Bergwijn. £4m loan with a £25m option to buy. Leicester also have enquired apparently and ‘lead the race’ but PSV want to sell so they can get funds to facelift their squad in the summer as they have fallen far behind Ajax. Di Marzio said Success has been offered to PSV as a makeweight but they aren’t interested and have asked about Penaranda’s availability but we are reluctant to let him go. Some other pundit was on and said Leeds have withdrawn strong interest in Andre Gray and are getting a player from Leipzig instead so can no longer afford what we have requested. Forest and Bristol City still keen on a loan deal with option to buy but wages are a huge issue for all chasing teams. Also said Celtic have bid £6m but rejected out of hand.
This makes so little sense - why would PSV want an inferior player in Penaranda as a makeweight for Bergwijn? And why would we turn down such an opportunity?!
If it holds any truth, they may think Penaranda could come good at them I guess. He didn’t say we had turned down the opportunity of a deal. Just that we weren’t keen on Penaranda being included in the deal. Did say it was far more likely he would go to Leicester but they need to shift players out first. The ‘transfer’ panel were asked what business they think we would do if any - and they all said that through their agent contacts they knew Watford were after ‘defenders right across the back line’ of real star quality - but have accepted that it will be near impossible due to our league position. One went as far as saying he knows that we have been offered all manner of names by agents but all have been rejected as not the quality we want. Hence Pearson being quite cagey about it - the club know what they want but are struggling to get the quality required. Hence, ‘we may, we may not’ - sounds like if anything is to happen, it may be on Deadline Day when things start to happen elsewhere.
Get him in. Penaranda the other way. Cannot see an issue. A goal scoring winger to complement Sarr on the left.
He'd be really good for squad depth, someone who could easily rotate on the wings and the starting 11 wouldn't be considerably weaker. Leicester have Vardy, Ayoze Perez, Harvey Barnes, Denis Praet, James Maddison, Demari Gray, Marc Albrighton & Ihenacho competing for attacking spots so I'd assume someone definitely has to leave first, Gray feels most likely.
PSV have confirmed to SSN that he’s been left out of their squad today because he’s likely to be moving and they’ve had bids. Spurs the new favourites to get him.
