About as good as we can hope for right now. I hope Pollock does well, I feel like it would actually mean a lot to him to represent Watford.
Concerned Kone and TDB are too similar but we’ll see.

The Wednesday ground staff did a good job of scraping all the cow pats off the field before the game. I have played on better Sunday league pitches.

We need to get Rajovic on and swing it in the mixer just because of the pitch.

Poor game from us. Had a few flashes of quality but Wednesday were better and were very unlucky not to win. First clean sheet in 13 games or so...

    Disappointing

we looked more skilful, they pushed us around, lack of quality all round

a clean sheet, but we need three points

Decent to come away from Hillsborough with a draw, but we don't need another replay to congest the fixtures.

Very poor quality game played on what looked like freshly ploughed field.

All three midfielders had poor games but a special shout out to TDB who had an all-time stinker. Absolute passenger and three times he had the ball in their half on the break with teammates ahead of him left, right and centre and each time he allowed himself to be caught in possession.

Just seen the score as working .

A rate clean sheet - maybe fortunate looking at the stats?

VI blows my mind with his subs every game. Why bring on our best winger and put him at left back? Why only give Dennis 5 minutes?

A draw away from home is a decent result, but we have to back it up with wins at home. Dennis needs to get more minutes, we know what he is capable of and we need that in the team asap.

Special mention to Kone & TBD who were both utter crud tonight. Kone is in an inconsistent faze but more often a great player. TBD has one half decent game but showed tonight he is not fit for first team action. 3 times tonight we were on the break and he dallied on it and lost the ball. The first one Kone was clean through if he had passed.

Players performing below the standard required is hurting us game after game. Obviously inconsistency is the definition of mid table but we are so close to the play offs yet so far which makes viewing so frustrating!

Finally a clean sheet, but also for once we don't score, so same result. A bit lucky not to concede really and a bit unlucky not to score.

Martins didn't have the worst first half, but his finish with an open goal was just pathetic. I wasn't convinced by the decision to sub him and I think Asprilla is wasted on the left - he didn't really have the pace or strength to get involved from there and didn't have much of an impact.

Pollock was a bit hit and miss. It wasn't too dissimilar from the kind of performance we've come to expect from Porteous really. Some decent work defensively, but a bit clumsy at times and also his passing mostly wasn't very good when he tried anything more than a short pass along the ground. As soon as Porteous came on he quickly reminded everyone why he shouldn't be nailed on as a starter with two rash moments. I'd be willing to give Pollock another game to see if he can build on that.

TDB was very disappointing - he wasted about 3 or 4 excellent opportunities for the counter by dallying on the ball in excellent positions and then either being caught or making a poor pass. I'm sure he's capable of doing much better than he did so I just don't know what was going through his head.

A result which quickly diminishes what little hope there still was of a playoff push. Oh well, back to the more expected mid-table mediocrity again.

You could literally copy and paste that every time he plays. He’s useless and I can’t stand him. Terrible player. League 1 at best.

That was one of the more obvious subs (along with the Pollock one) - given that Dennis was gassed after just 5 minutes at the weekend.

He did look a tad livelier in his brief cameo today mind, but clearly he still won't have much in the tank yet.

Awful pitch, Sunday kick about sort of ground.

Game was terrible and devoid of any major talking points. We shaded it overall but never looked like scoring with another sitter missed. We are drawing so many games because we don't let many in but cannot seem to score at the other end. Preston sort of culture. Hamer, Asprilla did better than most, thought Pollock deserved a mention for his work rate. It was more akin to a late evening kick about down the park to a Championship fixture. Could of done with all three points, but the point keeps us ticking along I guess. Better result for us than Sheff Wed considering table placements and it's another away game without a loss. At least we kept a clean sheet.

Really nothing much else to say after that game.

As a team our decision-making is so often consistently terrible, and TDB is the absolute emblem of this. It's ridiculous at this point.

Special mention also goes to Bayo for choosing not to shoot when one on one and instead utterly blast a ball through to the onrushing Martins so hard he had to dive to reach it and missed an open goal the contact was so poor (though that's not to absolve Martins of responsibility entirely for the miss).

Overall a frustrating, low-quality game that was rather dull outside of a few heart-in-mouth moments, mostly of the wrong variety.

Today underlined that with Kayembe out and having sold Louza we are really in need of another CM. TDB and Kone can't both play every minute of every game like that.

Dennis is still getting fitness sorted. Agree though Sema at LB isn't ideal. But again he's not fully sharp yet and can cover there when required. Asprilla I thought was less effective than Martins today.

It wasn't just TDB. Countless times we had a chance to transition and just played a bad pass or stumbled. It's a point and it's a clean sheet, but we've sacrificed some "fun" out of our game by sharing up the gaps in search of a clean sheet. Now we've got it, and it's out the way now, maybe we'll progress again. I've not seen us do an effective high press in 2 games. Yet we still waste energy doing a halfhearted job of it.

Martin open goal was Bayos fault. Firstly he should have taken a touch and scored himself, secondly his pass to Martins was gash.

Strange times. Obviously want the mighty orns to do well. Get to the playoffs. Chance of promotion etc. But, at the same time, I know we are utterly **** and we are just a mid table team at best.

Kinda hoping we finish 7th at the moment.

Rubbish performance. Created nothing, particularly in the second half. Why were we saving Dennis for the last 5 minutes? He might not be fully match fit but we've only got him for four months. Are we going to spend one of those coaxing him back to fitness by giving him 5 minutes every game against teams at the bottom of the league?

F*** me, our midfield is *****. Don't get within 5m of their only creative midfielder for 85 mins and can't get a foot on the ball because some determined lower-league brutes shoulder them out the way. Why has everyone in the Champ got those players and we've only got a 34 year old Livermore?

Can’t lie I’m excited by Dennis but annoyed that he’s not anywhere near fit.

that was awful. It must have been how others felt when Saracens tore our pitch to bits a while back, but the quality is (or should be) better in the champ nowadays.

Because Livermore and Hamer are the only ones who know what the physical side of the game are. Rest of our team are fresh wall flowers in that department, afraid to get stuck in. However, due to how paper thin our squad is, perhaps that is not a bad thing. Long gone are the days of Roy Keane and Dennis Irwin. Helguson was a bit of the old school as was Holebas and GNW.

Yes Kayembe's absence was so clear in tonight's effort. His control and ability to thread a pass through would have allowed us to create something. Kone can do that but wasn't his best night. TD-B is always looking for a foul rather than trying to spot a pass. There lurks a real footballer in there but he manages to avoid liberating the prisoner! Absolutely no surprise Man City dumped him when they did. So frustrating.

He’s miles off match fitness. Interview with him out today - on the club website - he says he was gassed after 5 minutes on Sunday. I reckon it’ll be March until he’s fit to do a full 90.

Bayo needs to be sharper, if he was he would have scored, the midfield huffed and puffed but didn't do players ahead of them any favours with either half hearted or overhit balls. Considering Wednesday had twice as much rest as we had after our last games a point was ok ish, but could have easily have been three as much as it could have been nil! Roll on Cardiff on Saturday!

"The pitch was very difficult, it’s as simple as that. We needed every time two or three touches to control the ball. In the transition we missed all the time, especially second half, the last passes. "It was a bumpy pitch, it was very difficult for us. "We take the point. It’s the first clean sheet in two months. It’s a little step but still a step ahead and we’re still in good form away."

VI is right about that sub-standard pitch. It is so often like that at Hillsborough but he shouldn't give them a free pass for our half-hearted efforts.
