Because it was originally a normal Saturday fixture moved only because of the FA Cup 4th round. Seems Sky only have red button rights to the rounds of fixtures that are earmarked for midweek from the outset.
I hope Pollock starts as his performance against Southampton deserves it, plus Porteous has not been great recently.
Yep. Besides Sky would rather gather thousands of fans round the set to watch mouth-watering games such as Liverpool 0 Manure 0. No need to waste energy on two tinpot Championship clubs in a nothing midweek game.
VI in a Watford Observer piece yesterday; Ismael Kone limped off in the second half, but Ismael said it was cramp in both calves and described it as “nothing bad”.
If anyone wants watering holes/eateries/sightseeing info, please shout up. Gutted that I can't go to the game; my s-i-l and I had a 'Big Awayday Out' all planned for the original date... Steel City Plastic
Was planning on having something to eat in a nearby village before venturing to Hillsborough, unless you can recommend something more local. Also what about parking? I was going to use the Middlewood park and ride.
Should be fully battering these absolute no hopers, given that we are just no hopers, without the added "absolute".
The Admiral Rodney in Loxley is a nice pub . Great views overlooking the Pennines and just outside Sheffield .
Lots of great places to drink around Kelham Island, and you can get the Middlewood-bound tram from Shalesmoor to the ground. If you're driving though, I've no idea about parking near the ground, unfortunately.
Thanks, train for me although there isn’t a train back heading to Derby where my missus will collect me and the lads. Thought there would be plenty of trains back from a sizeable City like Sheffield.
Will never forget a young Gifton hacked down and hobbling on the wing, and there's GT shooing him to chase up the wing.... Next day Gifton's career over...
His time with us may have ended not long after that, but didn't he go on to have a half-decent career playing for Stoke, Burnley and a couple of other teams?
Chak and Martins are rather underwhelming as the two starting wingers. Our best wingers are all on the bench! Aside from that I'm pleased enough with the lineup and getting to see how Pollock can cope in a Championship game. Good to see Kone playing, here's hoping he's sharper than he was at the weekend.
Two of our widemen on the bench are lacking sharpness, Ince has barely featured for yonks. Would prefer Asprilla to Chak though, and Martins gets stick, but he's more of a threat than Chak and he did score at the weekend
No way we're getting anything from tonight, Wednesday have named a starting XII - and if the ref is anywhere near being a 'homer' then that's 13 vs. 11 And I bet the EFL, the FA, UEFA, FIFA, NASA, BT, GWR, the RSPB, RNLI, NSPC, AA, RAC, the other AA and the Co-Op do nothing, absolutely NOTHING about it.
