Is Cathcart back?just seems we keep chopping and changing the defense so much its probably the reason we concede alot.The whole playing Kabasele as a wing back is bizzare. Im with you on the what the hell is going on with Mariappa, surely if he is fit etc he would be more suited to play as a wing back as he can play as a right back.Getting a bit sick and tired of these constant injuries and not match fit players, im hoping the injuries are due to just us being unlucky rather than the players being over trained.

Who? Cathcart, who's been out for almost the entire season, after a well documented hernia operation and has only returned to full training in the past couple of weeks?

Or Mariappa, who suffered a well-documented, serious knee injury in December?

Like everyone else, I'm mystified as to what's going on with Success and we barely even hear a peep about him now, but if you don't even bother to read the news when it is available, it's hardly surprising you seem so utterly befuddled, is it?

 

Im clearly not the only one, i was stating earlier i feel we need more centre backs as defence is the place that has the most injuries.No need to get so anal about it.

 

We've got 6 senior centre backs, one of whom is out injured for a couple more weeks, one of whom is just about back from injury and one who has an unfortunate habit of taking a lie down in the middle of a game.

How many do you actually want?

 

Sack kabasele off cos he is not good enough yet and kaboul is not good enough either, so yeah i would like 1 more decent centre back thanks.

 

I think the point is that our defence has not looked good enough with the players we have. I do hope that Cathcart will get back into the team alongside Pr*dl but I don't see Mariappa or Kaboul being good enough, I cannot really make my mind up about Miguel Britos he sometimes looks solid and then looks clumsy. Kabasele is a hard one to call as he has not had too much opportunities in the centre. I am not saying this position is a priority but I would not be unsatisfied if our management re-evaluated our defence.

 

Kabasele is alright as a ball playing defender, but is he better than Prodl or Cathcart? No. Is he better than Kaboul? Probably. Better than Britos? Depends on the day.

Fact is he's at most, 3rd choice central defender, so he should stay, though he's being played out of position. However I am hoping his antics on Saturday are a 1 off and that he's being beasted around London Colney this week.

I'm finding it strange people say he did that on Saturday partly due to his age or inexperience. Because of course at some point in time every professional footballer slowly lowers himself to the floor and lays down during an opponents Attack. Luckily with a bit more experience they realise it's not the best way to prevent a goal being scored.

 

I like Kabasele but I think he tried to con the ref at Sunderland too. Once is unfortunate twice smacks of being a large Belgium sap,as Wilde almost wrote.

 

If we get relegated by two points, he will be.

Only £10m, we should try and hi-jack this deal with a bigger offer. Surely he would rather come to a PL team, so we might even be able to get him if we just matched that £10m.

 

Other than the fact he's English, I cannot understand why anyone would want us to sign this player at the prices being quoted - he's had half a good season in a mid-table championship team. Rhodes and McCormack regularly topped the goal scoring charts but we arent clamouring to sign them? Why? Because they aren't good enough. We are allowing the fact he has scored a few goals to cloud what is a very expensive deal.
