Whats the difference between a Double Diamond and making love in a rowboat?

Nothing, they’re both f~cking close to water!

(With apologies to Budweiser, laughably called king of beers, and a canoe, from where this quip was borrowed - for very good reason).

I made a tactical change yesterday. M&S had 5.5% American Pale Ale from the Harbour Brewery in Cornwall @ half-price, £1 a can. After 6 of those during the game, on top of 4 pre-match cans of Moretti, I was on the pitch at full-time...

If I drank the whiskey I would probably dive in and never come back up!

I make a large G&T for each half with loads of ice and freshly cut lime in a large fishbowl. About 5 shots in each one.

    Water.
If it's a Saturday game I will have a cup of tea afterwards and a biscuit if we win.
On Friday I stuck to water after the match.
If we beat *****,IF I may open a bottle of Barolo but I may not want to jinx anything.

Light pre-match training tomorrow, especially with the 12:30pm k.o. on Saturday, so intensive training now.

5.9% Double Hopped Citra IPA from Oakham Ales Cambridgeshire, c/o M&S. £1 per 330ml can. Half-price.

The name of the beer is an anagram of 'hemelad is a c*nt', by way of an incredible coincidence...

    What kind of biscuit?

There's a world of difference between a celebration with a pink wafer and one with a dark chocolate digestive.

Had my Beer52 delivery yesterday so I imagine a few of those beers may make an appearance tomorrow.

Rarely drink, will definitely make an exception tomorrow. Can't beat a nice rum and coke.

Don’t usually start drinking at lunchtime but tomorrow’s match is a challenging one to get through alcohol free. Lattes and ferero rocher may have to be my substitute of choice, to be replaced by g&t later on in celebration/commiseration.

I too have an unopened one these, I would highly recommend not drinking this after almost 40 years, not sure Benskins ages like a fine red wine.

Strangely I also have a WFC labelled white wine from an offy in Croxley 20 odd years ago. Won't be sampling that either, suspect it was crap when sold originally.

Often start with a Peroni, maybe Cobra or an ale, 6X (if I can find it) or local XT brewery do some good stuff. Usually then onto wine when the beer has run out.

I use this as a general life coping mechanism, sometimes the football is on as well which is a bonus!

From memory the WFC white is a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Some guy from Borehamwood moved to the Marlborough region and opened a winery and ended up making this wine. My dad who is a fan of such wines said it was nice when we brought him a bottle for his birthday.

    Good shout.

Growing up in Wiltshire I thought beer was 6X.

Went to to the pub last night for the first time since they reopened, many Asahi’s later and some rowdy South Africans insisting we do ‘shuuudders’ have ensured my drinking strategy later is non alcoholic

No chance of that now,I might bash myself over the head with it!
    The biscuit,not a pink wafer but a Garibaldi was ignored as I sat,post match,in a depressed slump.
    Wretched.

Yes very depressing. At least you've avoided the comfort eating.

I was distracted by my incredibly upset son. Not sure that's a positive.

Save your biccies until we hit Brentford for 6.

    And finally...

    5 x Double Hopped IPA (330ml)
    1 x Moretti (330ml)
    2 x Corona (330ml)
    2 x Cava (750ml); 1 bottle down; 1 to go.

    WHAT a joyous afternoon!!!

    Keep the Faith
