I was too far away to comment on Digne's throws. My beef is with failure to start from behind the head amd taking the throw from the wrong place.

A rule i do understand but it always makes me wince a little when i see players placing the ball just on the furthest part of the "D" that's allowable when taking corner kicks.

    a. because i'm an ex football groundsman and it destroys our lovely white lines! and b. because what do they really hope to gain by placing the ball a matter of a few inches further forward. Are they struggling to reach the middle?!

I think it's just a mix of changing the angle of the kick slightly and allowing them a slightly bigger run-up. Most of the grounds in the PL/Championship change surfaces between where the run-up starts and ends which a lot of takers hate. Can't really see that really making a difference but psychology plays a part as well! I know Knockaert has spoken about this before so takes his corners from a really weird angle to try and combat it.

I cant see the difference myself. We are talking just a matter of inches between on the line..

or at the outer limits of the line..

Both seem to have enough space to me.

Tbf i was thinking it was players just getting that bit closer to goal.. but the above pic shows he's gone for further into the pitch than forward.
Still looks daft to me though and i'm sure it's something players have started doing pretty recently having realised they only need part of the ball overlapping the line.

Surely if he takes his corners from that angle they will all cross the wrong side of the goalline before curling back into play ?

I've often felt (quite without basis) that the corners thing was a tactic to wind up opposition fans, especially when taking a corner right in front of them. Putting the ball down and getting them all irate because of their limited understanding of the rules, in the knowledge that you're right, must be satisfying for some players.

Didn't even think about that, just watched some of them and he's got it absolutely nailed, they're very very close to going out (from the angle that I can see anyway) but don't seem to go out.

I like the rule about the referee being at fault for offside decisions when 20 yards behind the ball.
