Replacement for Troy?

In my opinion he has developed at an visible rate this season and is a much better player (and more valuable) than last; the flick over the other evening as an example shows the technique he's added to his game (and might I suggest is partly to do with foreign coaching?). £5M would feel like being cheated...

 

No way is Deeney the best striker in the Championship. Rhodes and Austin are definately a class above and probably Ings and
McCormack as well.

 

I wouldn't get out of bed for £3m

 

I think he'll go for more than £3m but from what I hear Hull is the most likely destination.

 

I doubt Deeney really wants to up sticks and go to Italy? If he does go, it'll be to an English club.

Deeney, for me, is one of the best all round strikers in the league. You aren't just getting goals with him. His work rate is brilliant. Even during his dip of not scoring he was still working his *******s off. There hasn't been a time that he hasn't given 99% to Watford FC over his time here. Just like Eustace used to hold a team together Deeney does the same for us but in a very different way.

 

I'm actually quite excited, not because I want him to go, but because I'm excited to see how much we can get for our star players now.

It'll be refreshing to see us put up a fight.

 

I think we should go back to bringing the youth through. I believe Phones is ready to step up.

 

Can't agree there. He puts in plenty of effort most of the time, but I remember getting frustrated by his uncharacteristic lack of effort in quite a few games during his poor form.

 

He was getting dragged all over the place in those games because he was doing so much. Whilst he wasn't scoring goals he was having to do everything else.
