Moyes was manager of one of the biggest clubs in England for over ten years and achieved nothing. They finished mostly between 5th and 8th - not exactly the stuff of dreams for a club that size. Perhaps it was not entirely his fault as the club allowed good players to leave too easily - but part of the job of a manager is to stop that happening. He seems to me to have been a one club pretty average manager.

I don't buy into any of this, a midweek fixture at Burnley isn't what it used to be, especially when the players are most likely flown up or put up in a nice 5 star hotel the night before! It's on Sky and various other channels across the world so the players know there's as much as pressure as usual on them to perform. It doesn't matter if it's special to SD, he won't be the one on the pitch running around, the players will treat it like any other game. The weather will be just as much a disadvantage to them as it will us.

Comfortably win tomorrow, Burnley 0-2 Watford.

And 2-0 Southampton, great build up.

    West Ham are shocking.

They do look poor, seem to have lost all confidence, Southampton definitely deserve the win so far.

West Ham may have Payet but their defence is truly truly awful, surely they are relegation candidates?

They seem to think they can just waltz past a very good Southampton defence and all over the pitch they want far too much time on the ball, it's easy pickings for the away side.

0-3 now. West Ham are sh*te.

A 3-0 home defeat, 4 defeats in a row and 11 goals shipped in three games, that's worse than relegation form.

The stadium was basically empty at the final whistle, Weat Ham fans are pathetic.

They didn't do enough Rabona's and fancy flicks. You can't win matches unless you "nuts" your opponent at least 3 times in a game.

I laugh every time I see that baron wasteland between the pitch and the fans, ridiculous.

Just caught the last 10 minutes plus injury time, and there was no one there again. I thought the reason Leyton Orient didn't get the stadium was because they couldn't fill it?? I'm surprised West Ham are so poorly supported - I always thought they were one of the bigger clubs, but they get less than us!

Of course moving to the new ground shouldn't excuse their poor defending and all around play.

Some of the players are probably quite pleased the fans are a long way from the pitch so they don't hear the stick/abuse they are getting!

They look completely devoid of confidence and fight.

Perhaps because they had high expectations and thought teams would roll over for them?

Bilic needs to earn his corn now as they look porous, to say the least.

    Another example of the myopic nature of the media;

5Live had a MOTD 2 programme on this lunchtime and were discussing Swansea. The presenter,Will somebody said to Oliver Holt " I expect you needed Wikipedia to learn about Guidolin Ollie, before he joined Swansea?"

What's more is that Holt agreed!

I laughed out loud at Jamie Redknapp's comment about how West Ham will get out of the slump they are in. Not quite word for word but he said "No disrespect to Watford but I think they need to play a big team here, an Arsenal or Chelsea, and beat them. They'll be up for that and it will get the fans behind them. That will bring back the confidence.". Mmmmm, more likely you'd end up getting thumped by Arsenal - and that isn't the best tonic for a confidence boost.

Henry's follow-on answer was more logical in football terms pointing out that they're next two home games are against Boro and Sunderland (with Palace away in the middle) so winning them would be a great confidence boost.

Their defence is absolutely shocking it has to be said. I'd be surprised if they go down but they need to sort things out quickly or they'll be in a real fight.

I noticed West Ham have started the season with a run of home games against teams they might expect to beat...maybe a bit of complacency has crept in.

Learnt from the Sky commentary today that they club only has access to the stadium on matchdays, so the players never get to train on the pitch!

West Ham trained at the stadium before they played us.

TBH how many times do we train at Vicarage Road?

    Just another excuse.

Just watching MOTD for the first time. My word, Sunderland are a capitulation machine. That goal they conceded at the very end... wow. Awful.

from what we have seen so far I think we are safe. without getting complacent of course but there are a lot more than 3 worse teams than us. West ham and Sunderland are truely awful at the moment. But no doubt both will sack the manager and scramble away. In West Ham's case they rely on Payet who looked lost yesterday and without a decent defender look like conceding everytime the other team attack. Sunderland have somehow stayed up to often now and I really think it should be this year they go down.

As long as we stay in mid table I can watch and enjoy without worrying.

Just back......I can assure you a wet evening game in Burnley is no more pleasant an experience than it was 30 years ago........

11th after 7 games, heading into the second international break - exceeding my pre-season expectations.

There was something horribly familiar about that Arsenal goal today that reminded me of Kanu's bundled in goal in the 1999/2000 season. Unlucky Burnley.

The best result for us but even then I feel Burnley were really hard done by ... I'm all for seeing out an attacking phase to conclusion but here the ref should have blown his whistle as soon as Arsenal played the corner short.

Guidolin sacked (on his birthday), and former US manager Bob Bradley appointed, with us playing them very soon be interesting to see how Swansea perform in their next game.
