I don't think so - we have only 4 points !! Actually we are only 2 clear as Sunderland in the 3rd spot have 2 points

TBH I don't think fans realise what a fantastic result last Saturdays was, the last time we were 2-0 and won was home to Blackpool when we scored 7 goals in the second half! Somewhat different to playing away to a premier league side that finished in seventh place last season!

If last Saturdays result was our " Liverpool " game from last season so be it, but it will take a pretty fantastic bloody result to beat it!

Said all summer that I think there will be 3 worse teams than us. I now think there will be at least 6 teams worse than us. Sunderland, Swansea, WBA, Muff, Hull, Burnley and Boro IMO will all finish below us. I think Leicester might also finish below us. Attack like we did on Saturday and we will be fine. However I have my doubts about 3-5-2 and we seem to improve when it is ditched. No one in the bottom half will have players like Pereya, Capoue, Janmaat, Deeney and Iggy to name a few.
Lets not under estimate how important that win was on Sat for confidence.

On the face of it seems it's Sunderland plus any two from ten to go down this season

Thinks there's going to be a very distinct two tier table this season with top8 well clear of the rest

Hopefully Palace and Bournemouth the other two

Despite Hull starting with 7 points, I can't see them staying up.

If Leicester do not pick up a few points soon I can see them struggling - Champoions League affects even bigger lubs like everton and Tottenham when they get a rare chance - I am not sure Leicester will handle it - let's face it everything turned to gold last year for a squad that had not been considered much good

If you take Hull as this season's Villa position-wise (as Hull came up through the play-offs, Villa finished bottom) then even if you assume that Hull are going to actually end up being as bad as Villa, Leicester actually have the same number of points from the same or equivalent fixtures from last season.

Drew at Villa, lost at home to Ar5e, beat Swansea and lost to Liverpool.

They aren't scoring so many but at least they still have Vardy and Mahrez, and while the likelihood of another title challenge is pretty much zero, I don't think they'll be much below 10th at worst.

Anybody saying that we're relegation favourites are off their rocker. We're definitely better than Hull, Burnley, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Sunderland, and Swansea. We might be at the level of Southampton and Stoke the way they're looking so far, or possibly better if we're lucky. And if we can beat West Ham, then on a good day we can probably take down a team like Everton, too.

Mid table again. Next season the next level upgrades will be awesome.

We have had one win and a couple of decent halves of football. We aren't Barcelona. Talk about rose tinted.

That is one win - and 3 points more than from the equivalent fixtures last season. I would not have been surprised if we had only got 1 or 2 points from our first 5 games - it was a tough fixture list. That would have put us in the bottom 3 and immediately added pressure. The win at West Ham gives us a little breathing space. Man U will still be hard - maybe a defeat but then come 5 games where we can compete.

I think the transfer activity we have had, the squad in depth we now have and a manager who appears to be more flexible tactically mean we should not hope for less than last year. A comfortable mid table position for now is a decent aim

Not saying 4 points is bad, it's good. Just that it has been up and down to say the least. We blow hot and cold ( mainly cold)

I'd say we were pretty decent first half at Southampton assuming one of your halves is referring to Arsenal 2nd half, and most of the Chelsea game, that awful slip from Gueds apart.

All the clubs expected to struggle now reverting to type again today... apart from West Ham, with that defence they really look like they could be down there this year.

Looks like results have went our way today with the teams that are expected to be at the bottom loosing today.

  25. The perfect tense of 'to go' is have/has gone. 'Have went' is only acceptable if you are a semi-literate professional footballer.

Boro just scored an Andy Gray type goal against Everton!

This one was less of a foul though..

Thought it at the time, I was amazed that was allowed to stand. Given the protections keepers get from referees that seemed bizarre that all commentators were saying it was legitimate. Definite foul on Stekelenberg.

I think the comment was it was hard to tell in real time but certainly would have been chalked off had there been a video replay.

Pre-season I'd have reversed wba and West Ham. Still think West Ham may turn it around where as wba I think will be a team we'll hope to finish above.

I wouldn't reverse cowboy West Ham or west brom , could get painful if you have to work through the whole 25 man squad

Stoke losing again. They really look in a mess right now despite looking good on paper.
