Strange about the North Stand - does look just like the same design as the Rous.
Also the East elevation shows the East Stand with what looks like the same roof design as the Rous.
Perhaps the plan is for the Rous to sweep around the North and East stands as one design?
    Should look nice.

Nice to see the flats are well thought out in light of todays society.

the one bedroom flats feature space for a cot.

I think the North Stand looking like The Rous is a muck-up as, as someone else said earlier in the thread, it is shown the same on the current plan. It's definitely The Rous, but labelled as the North Stand and with Vicarage Road behind it. Pretty basic stuff...

    Hi UEA,
You're right about the corners, they didn't say how big they'd be, but I can't see then going to the effort of building in an extra 400-odd seats at the probable expense - I agree by the way, I hate to current identikit stadiums too! where is the individuality? Wembley looks like Cardiff which looks like Arsenal, which looks like all American stadia built in the '90s (rant over, back to the thread).

Regarding the North Stand and two tiers: If you look at the plan, you can see that the bottom of the top tier does not reach the ground (next to 'G'). Look carefully and you will see 'steps in the tier below leading to just below ground level.

'70s urban regeneration plan is exactly how I would put it too:)

I'm going to have a good look tonight and comment again.

    Hi Jobs,
We're going to have to put some legal statements into our bet I think!;)

Scalexman, you going to Villa park? have a look at the corners, a few seats added in between the stands ;)

    Hi Jobs,
Villa isn't a great example - it's a dogs dinner. Their seats go into the corners because the stands are too long. That's happened because they've done exactly what we aren't i.e. fitted in as many seats as they can! Oh, and no flats round their corners;)

Why don't we forget the corners and just make a bigger East Stand? It wouldn't cost much extra, in fact it would make more economic sense than filling in the corners. There are NO planning issues with 'right to light' and no privicy issues as the stand does not need to have windows at the back.

BTW, I had a quick look into the issues they had building the East Stand extension. The issues weren't with the slope, they were with the gravel. The piles had to be over 30' deep to stablise the weight. A problem, but not insurmountable.
