Okay Yokuşlu used to be called Really Really F***ing Brilliant Yokuşlu, but he had a couple of poor seasons that brought the average down.
Spanish paper AS saying that Celta are looking to recoup “at least half” of the €6m they paid for him 3 years ago. Surely even we can afford €3m?!
If we spread it over 5 years with years with our first payment being delayed until 2025! Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk
Pretty sure Yokuslu's stats have him down as an excellent passer, and WBA fans thought the same. Thorsby to press from high and provide some goal threat and aerial threat. Etebo box to box ball-winner and ba-carrier (capable of getting us up the pitch and laying the ball off to the attackers). Yokuslu sitting deep and spraying the ball about.
Whenever I watched him he looked pretty poor on the ball. Stats may not bear it out, but i got the impression he was far better off the ball than on it if it was anything more than simple passes.
He’s below average in every single passing metric bar key passes - caveat to that is he played for West Brom. So would have to look at his Celta numbers
I'd say if we were still in the Champ, this would have been a great summer. A few players in and if just one or two hit potential, we would walk first place. As for the Prem, we've got a lot of risky punts. Has beens, never weres and never will bes. We've really plumbed new depths of signing the flawed talent types. Previously it was Capoue and Deulfeou - players who'd never quite lived up to early potential, now its players who've barely shown glimpses of that potential, who've been disruptive wherever they've been or who's legs have literally gone. Frankly, if we manage to pull of survival with this lack of quality, it will be a miracle, but it's going to be absolutely awful to watch 38 games of us trying to compete to survive. This squad shows a complete lack of understanding about the level we are at and it's unlikely to have the hardworking honesty of a Burnley, needed to massively over achieve against better players, plus The Kid doesn't have that type of game in him. I can't say I've ever looked forward to a new season with less hope.
The stupid optimistic me thinks we can just about scrape it. The realistic me says something along those lines. I believe the opening game will show our true colours of what's in store for us this season. Similar to the Brighton affair. But the desperate need of quality in midfield and the defence centrally scares the living **** out of me. People have got Xisco in a bubble but if he's still here after 10 I will be amazed. Just hope I'm proved wrong.
I don't think it is a case of him being bad on the ball - its more just that he keeps it fairly simple and is more about winning / retaining the ball than spraying Hollywood passes.
Does he have multiple agents / representatives? Not trying to sound sarcastic btw, that’s a genuine question. You normally only hear about players having “an agent” but it wouldn’t surprise me if they had a small army touting them round.
I thought Fitz Hall was Chalobah's agent - although appreciate most of these agents work for agencies and it is rarely a one man job. Edit: both Fitz Hall and Emile work for https://basesoccer.com/base-people/ but it is a big agency. Emile is 'Head of Middle East & North Africa'.
Some people on this forum think Kabasele and Cathcart are still up to PL football. Or Andre Gray isn't our worst ever signing. You can't trust people on forums.
Not seen much of this fella. Good height and hopefully bring some real physicality to the centre of the park.
Well it just shows the footballing knowledge of some on here. Two liabilities who are guaranteed plenty of minutes this season. Gray is nothing more than a joke of a footballer. Foe me offers absolutely nothing, infact he's just a waste of a shirt.
West Brom fans seem to think he's pretty good with the ball: "I really didn’t realise how good he was with the ball." Also, his long passing must surely somehow be above average - 2 accurate long passes per 90 with a 69% long pass accuracy rate seems good. Sure it's not Capoue, but still solid.
As pointed out in my post above though, 69% accuracy when he does is very good. His long passing seems better than that of Hughes at any rate.
Confirmed that his agent met Giaretta yesterday but apparently they’re old friends: https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...watford-sporting-director-cristiano-giaretta/
I knew there was a reasonable explanation to this. Just a catch up between the agent of a footballer and the Sporting Director of a football club who want to sign that particular footballer.
For the coming PL campaign he is likely further down the pecking order (I hope Deeney will be too). But worst ever Watford signing on the post you replied to? No.
