i had a buddy with a traumatic brain injury in canada and, nearly 4 years after the event, he is still re-learning how to write and do other things which require careful and precise motor control but he is about 80-90% recovered now. the recovery time for these things is in the magnitude of many years and if it had happened just a few miles south then who knows what would have happened.
Mods - Any chance of ensuring that posts to this thread are actually about Nic. The way topics wander normally is amusing but maybe we could consider treating this one more seriously?

I thought the way the Millwall fans gave their traditional reaction to Nic's applause was a tribute to all concerned. Middle fingers, vvanker signs and shouting all round. Not a clapped pair of hands in sight in the home stands. (Said basically in jest, it wasn't advertised anywhere I know of so I suppose they had no idea what we were doing)
It took a little while for them to react but I saw a number of Millwall fans clapping in the stand to the right of the hornet fans.
Yes same here, there were also a handful in the stand to the left. Although once the applause was over they went back to being their normal Neanderthal selves.
Lets not turn into Liverpool fans and start castigating fans who don't join in with a minutes clapping they might not even know anything about Its nice if they do but they are under no obligation to do so

I love the 44th minute applause. I'd love it to continue past the point where Nic is back to full health. Somehow a tribute not just to Nic but to all supporters, all of us. #fornicforpromotion
It may be a little early to hope that Nic could focus on a ninety minute game of football all the way through, but maybe this is the best opportunity to let him hear our support for him and his family. No one needs telling, but put everything into the 44th minute, because it may not only be heard by Nic, but may also be his contribution to promotion. He is never far from our thoughts when the ball is in play. For Nic and for promotion. Brighton you are next. #fornicforpromotion
Anyone know if Nic is aware of the promotion? I realise his progress will be painstaking and slow, but being greedy, it would be the cherry on an already delicious cake, to know he's sharing in our collective joy right now.
It was fantastic to stand in Walkabout last night and amongst all the chants, pretty much every third one was about Nic. Even when it would be "allowable" to forget him, we as a group of fans didn't and it makes me very proud to say that. Hoping he's happy today.

Hopefully when we next see a picture of Nic, it will be of him and the trophy. That would be an utterly perfect way to round off the season.

Great idea. I'd guess getting Nick to the game just isn't possible but this would really be "class act"

If this event didn't happen would the players have had the motivation to go on that run? Every cloud.
I hope they would but I'd rather that my friend weren't in this position, so I'd happily swap whatever motivation for him to be perfectly well
