I find Charlie Sloth amusing

Similarly to Westwood he's fine if you don't take him too seriously.

They've both done a lot for the UK scene and moved it forward

 

Charlie's a good guy. I met him once and yeah man he's cool, he's trying to do a lot for the scene.

Westwood well I think he's a di*k but hey ho.

In a healthy place right now, just hoping Kanye don't ruin it.

Listen to Bugzy Malone! He's the best rapper in the UK at the moment. In my humble opinion of course..

 

Bugzy Malone is tight. I love Tempa's spitfire, trendsetter and scene smasher but not sure what he's like on a track. Crazy good delivery.

Black Josh is crazy good.

Bizarre that it's the same names as when I was into it 5 or 6 years ago. There come a time when lyrics such "SN1 on my t again, my black trousers D&G again, looking like a G again" just make you laugh though.

 

Sooooo Kendrick released his album today... Enjoying it so far.

 

There seems to be a real resurgance from these artists and it's difficult to point a finger at one thing that has caused it, though it's probably German Whip's success.

The Staves album comes out today. Well worth a listen if you're into that kind of music.

Anyone know where the best place is to find new indie rock/indie pop bands? The indie scene seems filled with electro stuff, and I'm struggling to find new guitar based bands to get into. What radio stations cater for that genre?

 

Finally got round to listening to my copy of the XL Recordings 4xLP boxset "Pay Close Attention". XL have released some absolute classics in their time! Can't believe they left off "On A Ragga Tip" though.

Cheers. I tried 6 music for a while and it's all electro synthy type stuff. I miss the days of mtv 2 in 2007-2010. I used to watch it every morning before school. When I lived in cardiff you could go to a small venue, holding maybe 75 people, and see 2 or 3 indie bands for £5. Is there anywhere like that in London? Probably more expensive, but those small little venues? I bet theres hundreds but I've got no idea where.
