Interesting, I think my proclivities towards club/ownership/clapping seals/etc are fairly obvious on here, but I think this is absolutely pathetic behaviour, to be honest; not to mention a very slippery slope of a security risk at a time that that's already a growing problem in the game, and in which many people generally seem to have allowed themselves to forget entirely how to conduct themselves in public.

To try to remedy this situation the two posters in question are not the same person, they do not share a unique IP address. I can only conclude that two different posters have decided they want to voice their views on what is happening (which is perfectly fine) and for whatever reasons have been caught up in a debate over a difference of persona. For the sake of this thread and the sanity of this forum can we please now draw a line under this issue of mistaken identity and move on. Steel City Gold is also not a unique IP and is therefore just the one account. I've made this statement purely in an attempt to end the debate of multiple accounts on this forum.

If an account is made that shares an IP it gets flagged as suspicious and is removed.

That reminds me - not that it would have likely made any difference to the outcome as it was in the 91st minute, but Zian Flemming's tackle at the end of the game was a shocker and looked more a red card than a yellow.

So much more fun limply losing 1-0 in a South London 5h1thole in this league than in the Prem.

Why is a long throw hurled into the box a good thing, yet a long ball into the same box is bad.

Surely it would be better, from a crafty tactical point of view, to throw it 6 inches to a teammate and then everyone tippy happy passy it through their defence, or better still whack it back to the keeper so we can 'move it through the thirds'?

Look. I enjoy reading these forums and the discussions they generate as you can get some excellent discussions and viewpoints you don't get elsewhere.

This is asinine now from all involved about multiple poster identities and this and other threads now being dominated by this. It makes me want to disengage from this forum currently. It isn't enjoyable for anyone involved, makes reading any discussions hard and de-rails and created arbitrary dividing lines that become lines of personal attack between other posters. It's not something I want to be a part of or want to keep seeing in this space as it ultimately achieves nothing but some egotistical point scoring.

Can we please just park this and draw a line under it? Yes we're crap and we have many deep lying issues behind the scenes and on the pitch at this club which need to be aired and discussed which inevitably brings together conflicting views but all of these theatrics aren't enjoyable or beneficial to anyone involved.

We are six points off the relegation zone and are level second worst with three other teams in the last five games form table, we are firmly in the relegation battle.

Gino wont sack Val because of the compo due to extending his contract earlier in the season but surely the financial implications of getting relegated will cost more.

Yes the football has been bad the last few years.
Yes the club has been poorly led for a while.
Yes we are frustrated that the club we all love (regardless of who is in charge or who is on the pitch) has been reduced from the days of competitiveness in the Premier League.

    But

As I understand it, people posting on this forum are not just Watford fans, but are also adults.

    I'm not taking sides here.

We need to accept that there is going to be a range of opinions on a discussion forum.
Some of these will agree (fully or partially).
Some of them will contrast (fully or partially).
The people posting their honest opinions do so because they want to voice them.

If we could all accept that there will be disagreements, discussions, and potentially opinions that we find wrong, then I think this place becomes much easier to navigate.

I can understand people wanting to validate opinions they stated earlier in the season.
I can understand people feeling annoyed that more pessimistic predictions are potentially bearing out.

What I can't understand is why anyone would be so invested in point scoring on an online football forum to the point where more often than not, we see threads returning to the same conversations, the same arguments.

I can't understand why anyone feels the need to waste their time with insulting online personas.

There seems to have been an increase in the number of people taking time away from this forum because of the increasing arguments on here which is a shame.

Like I said at the beginning, I'm not taking sides.

But it's a massive shame that our safe little corner of the internet is losing a bit of its safety.

I know that if anyone came to this forum with a genuine concern or issue, they'd find support from every single one of the members on here.
Let's not lose that over something so petty.

Please can we keep the thread on the topic of the Millwall game.

Remember if you are that against people's opinions put them on ignore rather than dragging threads down.

Did we play 4-4-2 yesterday? In the clubs live blog Dennis’ name came up more than anyone else’s from both teams, sounds like he got into plenty of good positions but didn’t find the quality when needed?

No, Dennis was playing RW in the 433 (with Asprilla as the most advanced centre mid). Dennis had a decent amount of the ball but was typically wasteful and overhit a couple of good crossing opportunities. His ball control was also alarmingly and surprisingly poor a number of times.

But in general we as a team didn't get in to many good opportunities in the whole game, Millwall sat deep and we struggled to get through them.

Dennis was awful every time he had the ball and then had the nerve to tell fans to calm down at the end of the game.

That was one step up from Jamal Lewis though who was stood having a laugh with a Millwall player at the end.

And people used to say it was me that descended the forum into petty squabbles.

Read it and weep suckers! (I joke)

My personal opinion is this forum is great and people who have differing opinions will naturally argue. Yes, people may derail a thread - but rather than them putting one another on ignore, wouldn’t it be easier for those saying it annoys them to put the participants on ignore? And if one party constantly does it, they’d soon find themselves in a large echo chamber.

Failing that, step away from the forum. It’s so much more enjoyable to me now to just pop in now and then, rather than checking regularly to see if Rousy or WatfordTalk have risen to my bait. And stepping away has made me tolerate people I didn’t like on here far more. I was part of the problem.

Good post Burnsy. I should maybe just step away. But honestly I think the Pozzo ownership is so awful that I now feel that fans are either with me (maybe 30%). Or against me (70%). My feelings about Pozzo (and entourage) are so extreme now that I can’t think anything but disdain for the against. Can’t help it.

I loved this club. I hate it now. Can’t help myself but fume at the horrors that have changed it.

Maybe I should user retire for ever, watch the club disappear and have better mental health not trying to convert the fools who can’t see it.

There are loads of us somewhere in between. I think they’ve done a poor job last 4 years and right now I don’t have confidence in them turning it around. I don’t yet think we are at the point of total Armageddon

depends on your definition of total Armageddon.

if that’s going into administration then no, not the next few seasons

if it’s an owner who wants out, a manager who has little affect on games, a squad that’s on par with some of those in the mid 90s, quality of games that makes paint dry more interesting and a very very bleak future then yes we are there

A great job for 7 years followed by 4 poor seasons in the last 5. The direction of travel is poor and I doubt too many have confidence they can turn it round. A shame that the bringers of our second most successful period ever have blotted their copybook so badly.

Not having that, they are young athletes, it's their only real responsibility, to be fit to do their job. Many people do far more physically demanding work, week in week out, without being pampered by dieticians, personal trainers and physios.
