Can't believe no-one (or hardly anyone) has mentioned the goalkeeping punting the ball off the back of the CBs head. Easily one of the best things i've seen on a football pitch.

Why didn't Vydra celebrate when he scored, he looked bloody miserable?

Amateur job. When done properly the ball ends up in the back of the keeper's net.

Don't worry Scott Loach and Dale Bennett, we'll forget one day...

'Interestingly', the goalscorers that day were Sordell for Watford and Bennett (OG), Eagles and Iwelumo for Burnley, all of whom had played, or would go on to play, for Watford. Our team that day included Dale Bennett, Adam Thompson, Lee Hodson, Danny Drinkwater and Andros Townsend, with Ross Jenkins and Matty Whichelow unused subs. Oh, and a certain Troy Deeney didn't make it off the bench, either.

Let's hope we can have a trip to Brighton without the tedious (at best) homophobic chanting indulged in by some of our fans on previous occasions.

While waiting for the train, Watford sang "You're going down with the Blackpool". Millwall replied "you're going down on your boyfriend."

    Non-story.

The most goals we've ever scored in a league campaign is 92 (55 years ago).

We're 8 shy of that with 5 to play!

Reckon we'll set a new record?

Cracking away day, shame it won't be one to go to next season.

Two classy goals both made by Anya, he can be frustrating at times but both assists were top drawer.

Guediora and Watson are superb in the middle. The difference Watson has made since his arrival is massive.

If Deeney scored that chance in the first minute I think we could have clocked up a cricket score but it was still very comfortable.

The lino on the left was shocking for Millwall (maybe a conspiracy theory against them?) - he seemed to give everything our way, and the throw he didn't give them was hilarious.

I thought there penalty was stonewall at first but having seen the replay the ref got it spot on.

    Paredes was awful.

I'm surprised their keeper has played there as long as he has - he's been one of the best in the champ for some time now.

    On to Forest.

Not sure I agree with this. I think he's done quite wel over the last few games.

The people around me at the game on Saturday thought he was terrible, yet when I mentioned it on the legends twitter there seemed to be a lot of people defending him - so certainly a split opinion. The amount of times he lost possession, was out of position and lost his man was awful. He should be thankful Millwall were woeful and didn't punish him.

Well that's a different incident to the one I heard. Trust me it wasn't a roll your eyes and groan at the pathetic-nature of an immature response, rather consistent homophobia.

People around me were laying into him as well. Sadly these people know very little about football. Wing-back in a 3-5-2 is the hardest position to play in. It requires absolute incredible concentration and awareness, even though just because of the nature of the position you're going to be caught out a couple of times per game at a minimum. You can either be solid defensively, and neglect the offensive element of it (which will most likely cause the system to fall apart) or be solid going forward and neglect the defensive side (which isn't ideal obviously). It's beyond our capability at the moment to get someone who's world-class in both these elements and there's very few players in the world who'd be capable of doing it flawlessly. This was demonstrated perfectly when we went 4 at the back, Paredes looked a lot more comfortable.

Couldn't agree more. Most of the players criticised this season have been playing in the wing back position - Paredes, Pudil, Anya, Layun, Dyer (yes!). Don't our fans see the connection - don't they realise how difficult it is to play there? Fortunately the Joker knows his stuff and continues to select the best players to play in that position.

I think for me, it was Hoban rather than Paredes. Hoban's played really well lately but I just didn't rate his performance on Saturday.

It was Danny Graham, not Sordell. I remember because after he scored I sang the Super Danny Graham song and some ginger kid behind me (in the rookery) nonchalantly said he wanted to punch me in the face because I was annoying him.

You're right, I only glanced at the BBC match report which said that Sordell crossed for Graham. Glad I did though, may not have had that story without it.

There were a few decent players in the team - Loach wasn't doing too badly around that point, Hodson was alright, Mariappa and Taylor were good, Andrew Taylor was good on loan, Eustace, Buckley, Cowie, Mutch, Graham and Sordell were all decent. Absolutely no depth, though, shown by Whichelow playing 21 times. He's at Boreham Wood now.

As I said before, I thought Paredes was better than normal v Millwall. He was as good as I've seen him v Boro, but still decent v Millwall. There was a bloke behind me calling him Paradise, though, and for that reason, I'm out.

I thought Paredes was poor to be honest but the only defensive players to come out of the game with any real credit were Gomes & Angella. Yes we kept a clean sheet but mainly due to Gomes and the fact that they were dire in front of goal. There is a half decent player there in Paredes cos he showed it against Boro.

I thought Paredes had a solid game on Saturday. His passing was suspect but it looked like he's been working on his defensive position and strength as he wasn't pushed off the ball as easily as he was earlier in the season.

Given this is his first time playing outside of Ecuador, I think he can be pretty pleased with his debut season. Plenty to work on, but there is a real player there waiting to get out.

It's not really an opinion, you're effectively playing 2 positions with one man. As a result you're going to screw up more than anyone else.

  33. Godfather

Quite. And that's why you have an extra defender to cover.

There are still people that can't grasp that wingback is more of an offensive position ... a winger that chases back rather than a defender that occasionally marauds forward.
