    Like Ngakia, you mean?

This is the sort of signing I hoped we would make when we were relegated a younger player with bags of potential and desire. 14 goals in 16 games this season is decent.

I highly doubt any of our current strikers would be in double figures from open play if they were playing in league two. None of them has any composure in front of goal. This lad has scored 16 goals in 18 appearances can you really see Deeney, Gray, Perica or Murray hitting those kind of figures at any level?

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't think this guy is good enough to jump to the top of the Championship, and certainly not the PL.

Has the look of someone that a Rotherham or Barnsley take a punt on....and does reasonably so someone like Cardiff then take him from them. Not at all convinced he's any better than that.

Only seen highlights but he looks a fair prospect to me. Scores all different types of goals. Has a decent first touch and pass unlike a certain forward we have. Difficult to say about pace but certainly doesn't look a slouch.
He knows where the back of the net is unlike our strike force at the moment.

Granted I have never seen him play but he does have 17 goals in 19 appearances and he is 21 years old, seems a good prospect to me.

Totally. As I said about Toney before the Summer his first touch is like watching Zidane compared to the clown Gray. That alone is an improvement in our attack.

Didn't realise he was only 21. Certainly at that age he has plenty of time to improve.

He does. It's not very often that Strikers can make the jump but they're exceptions no reason why he couldn't be one of them.

I don’t disagree totally. He just seems more in the mould of Tom Bradshaw or Sam Winnall than Ivan Toney to me. Scoring goals at his current level but it does get harder the higher you go - and I think the jump to the top of the Championship is a bit beyond him from what I’ve seen.

I think there’s a level of clubs below us that he needs to prove himself at personally.

I agree with this. In the few games I've seen him play he does seem to be just a good lower league player. Not sure he can step up to a top Championship or potential Premier League club. He reminds me a bit of Vardy though, but without the pace, which is everything for Vardy. Maybe Matt Tubbs would be a better comparison. Had a great season for Crawley but was strictly a lower league goal scorer.

I don't see him as anyone who could improve our front line in the immediate future.

I doubt that he's the next Harry Kane, but what if he's the next Danny Graham? That could help us this season. I've still got limited to no hope that Gray will give us anything.

Had high hopes for Gray this season but he seems to have forgotten how to play the game. Shame, he looked really good against Spurs but just seems to offer "good runs" now, it all falls apart when the ball actually reaches him.

The list of potentially available strikers who would offer more than Gray is absolutely huge though - it's not a very high bar.

I'd love to have DG back (in his prime).

Am told this deal is as good as done.

Just waiting for Bournemouth to jump in with a late bid so we are forced to up our bid but instead bow out and end up instead with an Italian has-been journeyman with a bushy tache, a toothy grin and dodgy knees.

    Watch this space.

We sign who we want. If he signs for someone else, we were clearly never interested.

Well he's just quite horrendously wasted a chance to put Crawley 4-0 up.

    Will fit right in.

Did the hard work but took too long and the defender got back well.

Yes looked pretty slow and clearly can’t kick a ball with his left foot hence the need to stop and come back on his right.

Apart from not taking the effort on with his left which was bizarre he did ok I thought. Him and Nichols both showed more quality than Gray. Atleast they can hold the ball up and lay off the ball better.
Watters in his 20 or so minutes looked useful. Took one on his chest that was drilled at him with pace. If it was Gray it would of been like firing one off a wall.
Anyways 3-0 didn't really flatter Crawley a well deserved result.

Watters' failure to accept a tap-in with his left foot rules him out for me. That's not what instinctive strikers do.

Agree with most of this but it wasn't a tap in although he was reluctant to have a crack with his "swinger" and when he opted to take the shot with his right he took too many touches and was closed down.
    1 touch = 1 sec
    1 sec = 6-7yards a defender can run
too many touches in the box just means that you will get tackled

Yes...that moment showed he would not really be an upgrade on the crap we already have. Took a massive touch around the keeper, then completely froze not knowing what to do. He's decent at League Two level though and his hold up play look ok. Not what we need though.
