This. They sell tickets for the tram just before you get there so no need to queue at a ticket office. The tram starts at the station so you're first on. It's way too far to walk.
After the game the away fans are nearest the tram stop. Leave bang on full time, or well before when we're 4-0 down, and you'll easily get on.

Are you serious? To gamble away six points when we need all we can get before pinning our hopes of staying up on getting the required 15-16 points in just the 10 games remaining would be madness. This United team are hardly world beaters and it's not beyond the realms of possibility we could get a point against a Liverpool team who are winning a lot but not by very much. We need a full strength team for every game until we're safe. They're professionals, playing one game a week after a 15-day break isn't too much to ask.

I bet Sheffield United still regret playing a weakened team at Man Utd in 2006/07 when in the end an unlikely (but not impossible) point achieved with a full strength one would have saved them.

We do not have the mental ability to win at Old Trafford. Even if we play a good match, and are the better side, we will lose because that's what we always do. We've only won once at Old Trafford and that was a cup match in the late seventies. Right now, we tend to sh1t ourselves when we are leading. I believe Watford have a fear of winning. They are uncomfortable when in front and this shows with all our late collapses. We've never won at Everton and never will do. We'll always go weak at the knees when we play City. We played well at Liverpool but had a fear of beating them. We were too scared to shoot when good chances presented themselves, missing open goals etc. It's all symptomatic of a frightened side. Watford are inflicted with Achievemephobia

With that in mind, there's no point in even bothering with the next two games. We need to be fully fit for games where we might actually win. Playing our strongest team in the next two games only runs the risk of injury. I cannot see any benefit in it at all, only maybe damage limitations, possibly for goal difference reasons.

As much as I think you are right that we will probably lose the next two games so logic is to not play Sarr and make sure he is ok for the games after Liverpool I think we need to gamble a little.

I say play Sarr / Kiko and go balls out for every point we can get , we are in an odd position we are probably going down and only a few big results are going to save us. I fear another two defeats would kill us mentally , but if we can beat Man U again and get a point against Liverpool we would enter the final stage flying.

Yes Sarr could get injured , but he could also score the winner , I think however the managers comments tend to align more to you way of thinking.

what ever happens we really do not need to get stuffed in the next two games, it would be awful to go down by goal difference

NOT playing a player if he IS match fit is a good way to get him injured when he does next play. Fitness does require match minutes.

Agreed, but I would hate to think we would go into this one just trying to keep the score down, Flores-style. We know we can beat United, so we have to try and do it again.

We have to play our strongest teams in all remaining games. You never know where and when you could pick up valuable points. In these next 2 games I think they’ll be less pressure as nobody expects us to get anything. As for the injured players it would be silly to risk them if not 100% as the type of muscle injuries they’ve had would be in the back of their minds and they wouldn’t give their all.

Genuinely puzzled why several posters are so convinced United will kick our sorry asses. God knows I’m a pessimist by nature, but they’re really not all that, are they?

    Cue 0-5 defeat.

We need to do our utmost to get 1-4 points from the next 2 games. We'll probably get 0 but we gotta try. Risking Sarr would b suicidal. We cant play him until we r 100% sure he wont relapse. If we copy Athletico against Liverpool and the whole team plays a blinder dedensively against Man Yoo we could get more than 0 if luck is on our side. We've never got a league point at old trafford in 12 attempts (i think). 13th time lucky.

Not true. I certainly saw us draw there a couple of times in the 80s. Nigel Callaghan got a last minute equaliser on one occasion.

If Sarr pulls up again I might cry, but we absolutely need him in order to beat United. Scandalous it took half a season for him to be a first-XI regular

I take your point. He is all we have left. This is a sad reflection on our transfer dealings that we pick a player who is Championship/League 1 at best most weeks.
You are correct, many on here have described him as pure pants. Some use much stronger language .
At one point during the Brighton game, he let the ball bounce over his head. School boy stuff. The groans in the Watford end were growing louder.. Not to forget, he missed an easy header in the build up which led to his terrific finish for their goal.
He tries hard no doubt and is good with the club community work, but if we have no one else to pick then what can we do?

  23. I watched the Monday game and they seemed pretty toothless up front so I started feeling confident of at least a 0-0 draw.

They somehow managed 2 goals though.

Still think they don't have a lot going forward which a good defensive set up can easily nullify.

Don't think we've got anything going forward either.

If we can set up well and last a full 90 minutes managing the game well and not panicking I feel we have a good chance for at least a draw.

Have a horrible feeling we'll be 0-0 or 1-0 up with 30 minutes to go and capitulate in the last 10 minutes.

If we do actually win this, I would consider this probably the most famous victory in our history.

Not only would it take us out of the bottom three, it would be our first ever league victory at Old Trafford which would also mean a league double over United.

It would be one of the most satisfying wins I can remember.

I hope we save Sarr for the next five games so he definitely recovers.

After all, we've only got 12 games left and if he's 100% fit we'll be able to sell him for about £5m once we're relegated

Whilst I don't think we will win tomorrow this is on the basis of 11 v 11. However what if they have a player sent off? We will then regret not having the best team to complete the job. I remember a Chelsea game where we weren't expecting to win but won emphatically after they had a player sent off. We need all the points we can get.

  29. The odds of a Manchester United player being sent off against us are ridiculous. Will never happen...

yup i was there for that one - first game of the season (84-85?). They had just bought strachan and alan brazil. They scored a highly debateable penalty and we got a 92nd minute equaliser

I look forward to winning every game and keeping clean sheets galore now Mariappa probably won't play..

Afterall the rest of our defence are faultless and never put a foot or head wrong..

    ;)

BTW get the feeling Sarr will be on the bench but least he is there to bring on .. if it's not too late!

We can only hope that your sarcastic, but warranted comments do ring true.
Poor transfer policy has left us picking him as there is no one else.
He is our Phil Neville or Robbie Savage. You look and think how did he play that many times as a professional?
    Fingers crossed for today.
