Please keep this up. Your campaign of hate toward Chalobah eventually did wonders for his form. I applaud you for attempting to do same with Mapps, even though he starts from a much lower base.
The one bad decision was allowing ENGLAND STAR Harry Maguire to stay on the pitch. Stupid AI VAR. Needs to be moved to the recycle bin.
I don't hate Chalobah. I never said that. I said he should retire based on his effort, movement and fitness. He always had the skills, but a fractured kneecap did his confidence some major damage. He has played well since NP took over. Maricrappa has always been poor. Ok, he is a great club guy, but he is out of his depth right now. He cannot defend and his performances cannot be defended. I also said we could be relegated before the snow melts this season. We need snow badly right now. Which will come first? Snow or relegation? I'd prefer snow and then this would put off the other for a while.
Well you must have a lot of snow which lasts till April or so ! Don't think we will be relegated till then - if we are at all. Fair comment on Chalobah - 3 times been injured and had to off causing us to lose control of the game.
Man Utd beat Chelsea. Pressure off Ollie. Going for top 4. They expect to beat relegationWatford. Ollie at the wheel goes into reverse. We win. 1-2 Watford
Can I ask you to please stop bastardising the name of one of our players to suit your view of him? I think it is disrespectful and unnecessary. Thanks.
5cm difference, not a great deal. But Aguero is a great, world class player and his ability to hang in the air and get high is incredible. He outjumps most players in the world. Did you read that Mariappa, to learn to sprint from a standing start he joined an athletics club and learned to always be on his toes and he joined a basketball club to learn to jump higher. You cannot fault him for his endeavour to improve his game.
We are a bit touchy. I could word it anyway you like, it will not change my view. I am of the opinion that he is a poor player at Premier level. Some fans agree, some fans don't. Don't read threads on here if you expect totally PC friendly replies. Replies to anything l put on here do not bother me. It is toilet paper, l include my own comments within that description.
I agree, he tries hard. You can't fault that. I have praised his love of the club, on his work within the Community and his effort. It does not change the issue in my opinion. A Lemon may wish to be an Orange, but it will always remain a Lemon.
Come on buddy boy, don't try and devalue it disingenuously like that; he said there can't be many strikers much shorter, and asked if there were any that stood out. And yes, as it happens, the best striker in the league over the past decade is multiple inches shorter than him. There was no caveat of 'do any stand out (below a certain arbitrary level of quality)' or similar. I don't fault Mariappa's character, and frankly the kind of work he did there is what has allowed anyone to ever even consider him a potential Premier League player, but it has not done enough to make him an acceptable Premier League player at this point in time, and that is what is relevant/important.
Mariappa is a good enough Premiership player for us this season and has been ever since we bought him back from Palace. Why? Because he is the best we have when injuries have sidelined others who are better. He is better than all of the U23s and so should be in the team as back up given the current circumstances. We all know our lack of a robust recruitment policy leaves us threadbare at the back. He is prone to mistakes but should not be criticised because he gives his all every match, which everyone recognises. So we should support the player 100% and criticise the recruiters. Same argument for Gray, imo.
Couldn't agree more, shambolic recruitment has lead us to where we are today. Too many sick notes (club bypassing medicals?) and too many bargain buys, it's clear that none of the CB's are up to scratch anymore other than maybe Kabasele. If we remain in the PL, the defence needs an overhaul and the only players I'd keep are Kabasele, Wilmot and Marriapa as back up. Janmaat, Kiko, Holebas and Dawson all need to go.
I agree but it won’t happen. If we stay up it will embolden the owner and the utterly budget approach to defensive players will continue. We have hit our ceiling under Pozzo because he will never invest in defenders. To be fair we’ve likely hit our ceiling under whatever approach we take anyway as we are just outgunned financially.
I don't agree that Del has no fight. I think that in our worst performances, he's never hidden and has shown some real guts. His biggest weakness, which is arguably just as problematic, is his terrible finishing and poor decision making at critical moments. How often has he got into the box from the left, with 2-3 people in the penalty box, only to curl a soft one round the far post, rather than square it? I have no problem with Del's attitude, just his end product. He's the polar opposite of Bobby in terms of guts and work rate IMO.
liked, but I don't see why we are keeping Mariappa. I don't hate him as much as others, in fact I defended him a lot in his early period in his second stint, however, if we have aspirations to be a premier league team, he should not be in our squad. Cathcart and Kabasele are the sort of level we should be bringing in, once our 1st choice are injured/suspended.
When we have spent big they have generally worked out. I would personally keep Kiko as he seems a much better player atm Sarr is an excellent example of a quality player to match their price tag. Delafoo is great in his day, even Bobby P has his moments. Gray is beyond all hope now. When his own team mates won't pass to him although he is in a good position, in fear of him effing it up or putting the ball into the Car park and not the goal, you have a problem.
It will be difficult United have a decent side but I think we can get something from this. United are very good on the counter attack but do not do well in games when the emphasis is put on United doing the attacking, if we are able to stay compact and don't provide them enough spaces and put enough bodies behind the ball I think they will struggle to break us down, hopefully Sarr is back and we can invite their wing backs on to us and hit them on the counter attack. I think Sarr will rip Luke Shaw apart also.
Why do you want Kiko to go? And even Janmaat will be really useful if he stays fit. As for Dawson, he's still got a fair few years left and I haven't seen much wrong with him when he plays under a manager who knows what he's doing. And to get rid of a player who was only recently brought in to strengthen the defence wouldn't look good for the Pozzos' reputation and could be a deterrent to us attracting good players in subsequent windows.
I heard he joined an athletics club to become a professional sprinter but was **** so didn't make the grade. Then he joined a basketball club to become a professional basketball player but was **** so didn't make the grade.
