I would not want to play Yeovil right now.

Yeah but luckily we played them when they were still **** :naughty:

It's good to still dream that the season is still alive but the closer we get to the play offs the more I get depressed about 'what could have been' if it were not for those last minute goals and the 'easier' teams we failed to get 3 points off!

I remember when I used to do this for relegation rather than promotion.

This way is much more fun.

It's a shame that if only we hadn't conceded our 487th pathetic, late goal of the season at Millwall, with our goal difference making the play-offs would have been entirely in our own hands.

Great way of looking at it! Worst case scenario we aren't any worse off than at the start of the season

If all of Brighton, Reading and Ipswich drop ANY points and we don't then we will finish 6th.

I can't see Brighton dropping points in their remaining games, except to Forest on the last game of the season.

  10. That could be enough...

It could but Forest can be more **** than us at our worst.

Be a joke if Forest got in the play-offs - only won once in about 15 games!

Mind you Palace had the same sort of run.

lol. someone really just needs to put us out of our agony. nobody seems to want that sixth position and no matter what you say it is still perfectly feasible for us to squeeze in there. do i think we will do it? no of course not. can we still dream that we might make it? definitely....at the end of the day why the hell not!

I don't think Forest winning was a bad result. If we are still in the mix on the last day, we need them to be too, as they are at home to Brighton...

Considering they only have 3 games left to play perhaps it may be more prescient to say somthing like...

" I can see Brighton winning a couple of their games but maybe losing one or two"

I know we don't play our game in hand until the last week of the season....BUT.....5 points off the playoffs, with a game in hand, and only 3 games remaining for all other rivals......I'd have snapped your hand off for that opportunity 4 months ago.

The only thing keeping us from a potential play-off place is........... one win. Just one.

Potentially Charlton could put us in 6th for when we play Huddersfield.

We need to win them all. And then our greater goal difference may actually count.

One match at a time, as they say.
    QPR away. Bring it.

Every time I see brightons points tally I cant help taking 2 points off it and adding 2 to ours.

  28. Why? Forestieri's goal? Brighton only got a point from that game!

Problem 1. - I can see B&HA getting max points from their remaining fixtures
Problem 2. - I can't see us doing the same

I think Brighton may even drop some points against Yeovil.

The impetus is with Brighton. But Yeovil and Blackpool are scrapping for their lives, their careers even!

Come on guys. We all know this league well enough to not assume results.

I agree with you and I'm sure there's more than two Watford fans who think this will happen. The irony in this though is that there are some fans of other teams going for the play offs that think we'll either stay undefeated (which won't help us) or will take the maximum 12 points available to us...

Theoretically QPR need a point to secure a play off berth so they might be trying but I think harry knows they are safely in there. Their Leicester performance really showed up their lack of any real attacking prowess and I can't help but think they are there for the taking as we are a much changed side from the one that played out that insipid 0-0 draw at Christmas, once again we can be almost guaranteed to score,

Derby can't be expunged from the promotion cauldron as theoretically they can still catch Burnley who face Wigan tomorrow at home. If we and the clarets do our jobs the rams can and undoubtedly will, relax. At least I hope so as that's our biggest chance of picking up points at pride park.

Two wins is what we need, two wins that I think Brighton, Reading and Ipswich would need to match to save their seasons (not that Charlton and Huddersfield will lie down for us).

If we win our last 4 games I think we'll make it. However, nothing this season suggests we will win our last 4 games. I'd rather either make it or miss out by 4-5 points. I know we can say how many points late goals have cost us but we've also notched one or two late ones to get into that position. I wouldn't rue our late frailties unless we narrowly miss out by 1-2 points. Goal difference is often a good indication of slightly better or slightly worse position than you should be and we are clearly a few notches below where we should be at.
