Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to express their views on the possible departure of Kaboul to Watford. Why would Kaboul go and play for Watford when he's seemingly guaranteed first team football here? — Joshua (@JoshBew95) August 16, 2016 Think I'll lose all faith if we start selling players like Kaboul for three million quid. — Gav (@Gav1879) August 16, 2016 don't want Kaboul to go but if its him or Kone I'd rather keep Kone, but what's the point, they look solid together, keep them both. — . (@MickyJSafc) August 16, 2016 If stones is worth £48mill Kaboul must be worth £75mill, that cross for fletcher against the mags was worth £50million alone — Marc Rowell (@rowelly91) August 16, 2016 I really can't see us selling Kaboul due to his importance and how thin our squad is, but I wouldn't be surprised if we did — Tain (@Aintainee) August 16, 2016 @SunderlandAFC The only exciting partnership we want to see is Kone and Kaboul, don't let either leave. Cheers. — Anth (@1973anth03) August 16, 2016
Easy now. Bournemouth have already reached their foreign player quota for the season. Think Mr Hughes has shot himself in the foot here...
More than capable of being a decent back up. Not great news for Hoban though if he is being dropped to 6th choice
Pretty bold statement at the end. According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Watford have won the race to sign the 30-year-old, who made 23 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats last season after joining from Tottenham Hotspur. Watford, now under the management of Walter Mazzarri, are said to be confident of having the defender on board for their league clash with Chelsea on Saturday.
The best thing about this transfer is the thriftiness in thread usage. Some kind soul resurrected the Kaboul/Capoue thread to alert us to new developments. Mods stepped in and edited the title. A very efficient use of Internet space in my opinion. This is an "Eco transfer".
Sadly, though I will be right behind him if he comes, this is a one horse race that I kind of hope we come second in. Wasn't very excited about this last year, which seemed to be justified by what I heard during the season (certainly, early on, remember hearing him referred to as part of their problems).
Interesting bit from a Spuds blog: "Watford are said to be close to the signing of 30-year-old (31 next January) former Spurs captain Younes Kaboul who fell out with Pochettino when he though his philosophy was wrong and wouldn't work. The youngsters led by Harry Kane and Ryan Mason stood up to Kaboul and other senior players telling them they were the problem. Kaboul was then sidelined and was no longer the mouthpiece of the club, despite officially being captain."
whatever happened to respecting your elders? Is there a bigger bunch of ***** on the planet than English footballers? Apart from the mutants up the road, obviously.
I often mused on a conversation between Roy and Harry! Perhaps Harry was asking if he could borrow Kaboul's copy of Descartes and he was misunderstood?
I have it on good authority that Kane and Woy spent hours discussing Proust...sorry I meant hours discussing how to pronounce Proust.
Haha, is that the same Pochettino that got Spuds into the Champions League and their best finish ever in the Premier League? What a terrible philosophy that man must have!
Hopefully Walter will take him through a brief PowerPoint presentation on how he sees our strategy and Kerbball with either nod and sign or hurl a pile of insults and walk out. Better we have our strategy approved before he signs.

There were a few Sunderland fans poo poo ing this information following the tweet, but then I suppose they would!
