Reports in France saying Capoue has signed for 8 mill... https://twitter.com/JustFootball?or...tw_p=embeddedtimeline&tw_w=357087017366077441
8 million euros, 3 year deal and will be announced tomorrow according to a French journalist. Quick scan of his tweets and he definitely knows what he's talking about it seems.
If we've landed him for around £5.5m, we've done pretty well. This could be a very good couple of weeks.
I wonder if people in general will raise a few eyebrows in our direction if we do indeed sign Nyom, Holebas & Capoue? In a good way of course. I kinda like being written off.
Capoue is a huge talent, I have no idea why Pochettino & Spuds don't rate him. Ah well. Their loss is our gain.
don't know a lot about him. signed him on football manager in a game a few years ago and he was great on there. know nothing about him in real life though.
I wrote a few weeks ago that anybody going offline for the summer and then turning up for the first match of the new season will probably be quite happy with our summer signings. They'd not have known about Perotti, Santon, the Inter midfielder, Stambouli , Richards, Ayew, etc etc, so they'd not be disappointed on those fronts. Instead they'll turn up for the first match and see the likes of Capoue, Holebas, Nyom, Prodl and in sure at least two new attacking players. Not bad!!
So if true we get Holebas and Copoue for less than Mings....Moneyball in action... (Yes I brought it back to Bornmuff...)
Can't take the credit for that one, was linked to it by a friend of mine who supports Rotherham, no idea why he's following a French journalist! It's now been picked up by some major French football accounts, would be surprised if this wasn't true.
Exactly. Just a little patience and trust required. I can honestly say I never felt in the slightest bit worried.
Two years ago Capoue was very highly rated in France. Went to Spurs, started well then got injured. A few stories did the rounds about his attitude when out the side. If we can get him back to the player he was two years ago, minus the 14 yellow cards a season he seemed to get, we will have made a terrific signing. He has much to prove in this country, because in hindsight he made the wrong move joining Spurs when he did. Personally I like the idea of signing a player who will be desperate to prove his critics wrong.
This is the signing that really has me ****ing pinching myself, what amazing owners we have. Also as a side story, I was genuinely at his debut for Toulouse where he bossed PSG in a shock win. I joked to my dad at the time that maybe one day we'll see him in a Watford shirt, who thought it would actually happen.
Since Spurs fans were proven so right about Gomes I have to say I'm completely underwhelmed by this signing.
Tongue in cheek - very excited about this. Spurs fans are notoriously fickle so I'm taking whatever they have to say with a pinch of salt, unless it's positive of course...
Indeed. For some reason Spurs fans are THE most fickle fans on the planet. Even Spurs fans think Spurs fans are fickle (although by tomorrow they might have changed their minds).
To be fair my Spurs mate had nothing bad at all to say about Gomes! Although I agree and I can't stand Spurs fans in general.
