It's not so much his exceptional defending, more so his exceptional work-rate, he always quickly tracks back and hassles anyone on the ball which you don't often see in a winger (looking at you Deulofeu)
Look at Davies the Canadian boy who’s at Bayern. He played left and right wing for Vancouver was signed to play in that position for Bayern then they had injury issues was thrown in at left back and is now regarded as one of the best in the world. This lad is rapid like Sarr and I remember watching him away at Chelsea he got motm in a 3-0 away win was often caught out of position but his pace to get back and recover was phenomenal and the player he was up against I think was Hudson odio who’s no slouch. One good game and people on here will be donning their kneepads in front of him. Sarr is our best player by a long ways. He is not Superman he can't beat 2-3 players on his own all the time. He needs other around him doing things. Playing him balls into space, overlapping, making runs off the ball... and talking on defence.
Can you list all the good games he's had for us? If he's our best player by a long way there must be loads. Ta.
See if we can get a loan fee from somone until the end of the season and invest that in an experienced Championship player that at least knows how to put a shift in week in week out.
He not only looked terrible as usual but he was outpaced by their centre back a few times. So he's actually got NO redeeming features.
He has got to be rested!!! He has been next to useless for weeks, and when he does try to make a break he is nearly always getting caught offside
Replace the N with a T and that might sum up his performance - even in the first half when we were on top.
Sarr has changed his Instagram profile picture from a watford one to one of him in his rennes or senegal tracksuit and has taken all affiliation with watford out of his bio, looks like he’s out the door
Don't blame him, we're a complete joke and he's wasting his career here. He's not even that good but he's certainly better than we are.
Literally couldn't care less about him leaving. He's been mostly as awful and ineffective as the rest of the team. Find a pacey League One winger and he'll likely have a similar level of impact.
Don't blame him. Terrible career move in hindsight. The worst thing is now we're going to make a loss on what we paid for him when Liverpool come in with a £5 million pound offer. Watch him go on and be a star too. I think selling Sarr and any assets we have is a good idea to try and sort the financial mess out. We've never bounced back from relegation before, and we aren't going to do it this time, so at least let's still have a club to support in 5/10 years time, even if we're in League One or Two.
Shame, as our new retired midget winger who looks like he works in a bar in Magaluf might have got more out of him.
Oh dear. Xisco's style would almost certainly suit him better thsn Vlad's, but this looks like a massive vote of no confidence.
It can surely only be because of the quality of the appointment as well? He hardly looked like he could’ve been happy playing under Ivic, so all things being equal he should be happy, or happier. At least we’re saving time now, the players are chucking the towel in before the manger even starts!
How weird is that? He's surely not going anywhere in January. Who is going to stump up £40m+ for him? Plus we're not even in January yet. He's still got to play against Norwich. Must admit, it doesn't look good though. We'll see if he's in the team on Saturday and that will confirm it.
Disagree with those saying 'fair play' etc. Very unprofessional of him. Makes him look like a price twunt, much like others in the squad. That said, it's clearly a Senegalese shirt. Think too much has been made of this
Maybe a team or manager with more stability will sort his attitude out and get more out of him in a more attacking style of play.
Him changing his instagram picture yesterday to him in his Senegal tracksuit is easily explainable/understandable when you click on his instagram story - it shows him away on international duty with his arm round his friend and international team-mate Moussa Wague... who had an operation on his knee on Saturday after shattering it during a match a few days ago and which will keep him out for about nine months (with suggestions it could even be career threatening). Sarr's pic has the message "come back quickly" underneath it (in French). It seems likely that the change in pic is therefore in solidarity with Wague. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/13524338/barcelona-moussa-wague-knee-retire/ Him changing his bio description below to just: "Ismaila Sarr Ma Sarr" does seem a bit cryptic - although perhaps it could also have been a nickname which had been given to Moussa Wague? After all, 'MaSarr' does sound a bit like 'Moussa'... It is clearly too much to ask nowadays that people have a think and consider the available relevant information before jumping the gun to instant outrage and sensationalism.
Have to agree with Lower Rous. This seems to be a tribute to Moussa Wague, rather than a message of he's leaving. Maybe the fans are getting a little bit too used to bad news and being loaded down with cr&p after cr&p. I thought it was a bit odd, especially in the fact he's Watford's big ticket sale, and no one is going to spend £40m on him in January that's for sure. I think it's safe to assume there's nothing sinister in this at all.
Who knows, he could still end up leaving in Jan, but this does not seem like a way of announcing it. Given that we held out in the summer I'd have thought we'd try and at least wait until the end of the season.
You not getting enough attention? I admitted to reacting to what another poster wrote. Then checked it for myself, hence the second part of my post.
