Yes, the club just said he had an extended break if I recall correctly. It was Sky who said he was in Senegal with his family, so I think people just assumed he had family issues.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Man U splash the cash after there poor display tonight against the stripy nigels
Leventhal says he didn’t play today as the reality is we don’t want him injured with suitors and us needing to sell. Admin of the club twitter needs to shut the **** up.
And there you go. Yet in another thread people are stating that we should give the owner's a break and in another thread that they are geniuses for not selling him. LOL
I am looking at the live blog and all he has said is: Q I get that with the relentless nature of the league espeically this season that they aren’t rushing players back & ensuring they are 100% ready to play. A Agree, I think that is part of the thinking. Mixed with some cotton wool wrapping. Q No Sarr and no Suárez despite them both training last week. Out of 10, how concerned should we be? A Both are of interest to others and may leave that's the reality of the situation. Q You have to assume the Jota signing ends Liverpool's interest in Sarr, but are there other clubs that will realistically table a bid for him? A You can guarantee that others will be interested and would have been expecting Liverpool to get the deal done. Clear that Watford are intent on getting the £40-50m they want/need. The position is no different to what it was before, or if it is Leventhal doesnt have a scooby, which makes the club's decision not to play either of them even more disgraceful.
I've read the comments, and you definitely seem to be making quite a lot of fuss over nothing. He says both Suarez and Sarr have interested parties. He says we want/need money, which is true, but doesn't have to come from the sales of those two players. He also says we seem to be wrapping players up in cotton wool - whether that's because they are lacking fitness or for other reasons we don't know.
He says the 50 mil we “need” and that the reality is we may sell. I just think people need to air some caution that he’s not guaranteed to be here because Liverpool bought Jota. If we can sell him, we will, or he’d be playing.
Again, Watford aren't to blame for Liverpool not wanting to sign him from Rennes, nor are Watford to blame for Liverpool not wishing to pay our very fair asking price for him.
We certainly don't need £50m. £40m has already been secured. We don't need to make up £90m difference. And anyhow, costs will already have been reduced by wage clauses / selling high earners like Doucouré and Deeney (hopefully).
We do need that money tbf, we haven't received all the Doucoure money yet, and we have to make £50-60m just to get back to last season's levels (when we still had loads of debt). Let's hope we can make that by selling our 'deadwood', and, at a push, Suarez and Capoue rather than Sarr!
We need money, but selling every salable asset is overkill. Clearly Suarez, Sarr, Capoue, Welbeck, Pererya are all going or else they'd be part of things. Geri, Hughes and Deeney are getting back to fitness, but I'd suspect they'd be added to the list if they were available.
We do like a good loan too. I'm sure we will secure one against future transfer fees if necessary. And interest rates are rock bottom at the moment so it's not a terrible time to borrow.
Ideally, we meek Sarr and Hughes, maybe keep Capoue too (although we wouldn't want to be saddled with his wages for too long), and Suarez, but the rest can all **** off
Not that good yet had them in knots a few months back and single handedly ended their 14 month unbeaten run. Morons.
I’m going mega optimistic.....I think sarr stays for the season. I reckon we sell Suarez and deulofeu, but sarr, capoue and Deeney stay. #hmspisstheleague #unbeaten
Maybe but they may decide they need a new centre-half as well as Sarr. Lindelof and Maguire were terrible tonight
He didn't say that and the only comment that was close to that was very clearly his own personal opinion, rather than any inside scoop. And even that cotton wool comment was about all the missing players, not just Sarr. That's not to say that he's definitely staying, I personally think it's likely a desperate club will eventually match our asking price and he'll be gone. I'm also hopeful that today was a genuine case of just being a bit too soon for him to make an appearance. If there's no sign of him against Newport or Luton I'll give up that hope and pop my 'Sarr 23' shirt in the bin.
Leventhal could well be correct but I would think that the Clubs admin may have more of an idea than Leventhal who doesn't really have that much inside information anymore. If I am honest if we can get 50 million for Sarr then at least our bank balance is looking a bit more healthy which might mean we keep a couple more players.
Judging by replies perhaps I’ve read a little too much into his opinion comments than needed. I don’t often read these Q and A articles but he seemed pretty pessimistic all round. I just feel all the noises are that he’s still more likely to leave than stay, think it’s mental he’s trained for two weeks but wasn’t on the bench today whilst Jerome Sinclair was.
Yeah, he's been much less positive in the last couple weeks. Do you think it could be that he's lost a couple of club sources who used to feed him the positive spin on any potential incomings/outgoings? Now seems he mostly posts his own personal views which tend to be more negative/realistic? Yep weird that Garner was straight in too although I suppose he would be up to speed fitness wise after training at Utd.
Obviously as Sarr and saurez have been involved in training. Vlad must be resting them for the Newport game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This whole ‘don’t play him incase he gets injured’ rubbish really grinds my gears. Play the kid, get the benefit out of him whilst we can. Give the fans what they want.
