Who do you rate more out of Penaranda and Success and who do you feel the Pozzo's rate more? I agree with Hornetzzz that I have been more impressed with Success although I have seen a bit more.
Bit of a different problem to which Perry to play in goal,Digweed or Suckling! Times have changed for sure.
Difficult to say, I haven't seen them enough. They seem both good with feet and capable in dribbling and shoot. Success has 1 more year of experience in Liga while Penaranda has just a dozen of games at top level. Success seems more "physical" while Penaranda seems to be very, very quick. They are so young that it's really difficult to foresee what will happen of them, if they'll continue to grow, if they're not unlucky with injuries, if they'll have the right mindset (Alexis Sanchez is the golden standard, being probably the most intelligent and hard-working talented foreign player we ever had at Udine). I know it's a very old analogy but ... they are still raw gems in the early process of cutting. The hope is they both will come out well shining and precious, hoping they won't be ruined by bad cutting or by internal flaws.
One turned out to be quite good, the other turned out to be ****. I can no longer remember which was which. Please help.
Reports in the interweb indicate that the deal for Success is still some way from completion, wages being the stumbling block.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/02/isaac-success-in-watfords-radar/ Apparently we're offering 20k a week but he wants 50k.
Easy. Digweed turned out to useless whereas Suckling turned out to be dreadful. Bottom line they were both hopeless from the **** era of Watford goalkeeping that also featured Simon Shepherd.
"....Having said that, BJ Foundation, the nursery team that nurtured Success before he rose to stardom, inserted a ten percent sell-on clause when he was sold to Udinese and stand to gain if he is acquired on a permanent basis by the English Premier League side./....." that'll help keep the fee down:]]. I expect the totally arms length transfer price will be very very similar to the fee Udinese paid !
LOL, what was I saying about "right mindset" and "internal flaws"? If these rumours are true and the lad seriously thinks he's worth such wages (after demonstrating nothing extremely notable so far in career), Granada is going to sell him next Summer to any team offering a decent transfer fee and fool enough to offer similar wages. A Chinese team maybe? Such a glorious career path! Pozzo is NEVER going to inflationate overall wages budget of the club by agreeing to excessive requests by players. He prefers to get rid ASAP of the ones too greedy.
http://www.fichajes.net/noticias/watford-interesa-success-20160217.html Fichajes saying Valencia want him too. Gary up to his old tricks again.
http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2016/02/isaac-success-is-a-very-good-player/ Quique said Success is a very good player. WD seem adamant that this deal is already complete.
I suspect they mean the intense haggling between Udinese and WFC has finally come to an end with blood on the walls and a fee agreed. The bit that hasn't been agreed is the bit with the player who wants £50k/w when we are offering £20k/w, alledgedly !
I can't help but feel as though there might be something in the rumour that the Pozzos are finished with Granada. This just looks like an exercise in asset stripping.
I think Granada have a unique usefulness that Watford and Udinese don't, you could be right but it would weaken the two other clubs if they were sold. The next Sanchez, Zapata, Penaranda etc would never happen again.
Not that I disagree that it would weaken us/Udinese, but what's your justification for the statement in bold? Zapata joined Udinese in 2005 and Sanchez joined in 2006 - both 3+ years before Granada were bought. I'm not sure why selling Granada would necessarily lead to that type of signing never happening again.
Oh sorry, okay well fair enough I thought they owned them then. My thoughts were that it would effect the ability to get players from South America, perhaps that's not the case.
I agree, whenever I have watched Granada this season, including the other night, Success has been the stand out player. I haven't been as impressed with Penaranda in the few times iv seen him. Success looks strong enough to cope with the English football as well.
