See reply to Keighley. I'm pleased members take account of everything I write. Is there a hidden forum notebook where you guys jot everything down? I never remember anything anyone writes on here.

I'm fully expecting the standard HB1 defence 'If it wasn't me saying it no one would care'

At least his first team might go undefeated all season.

Remember when Deeney said fans aren't qualified to judge players because none of us are/were footballers. Hah, that performance is exactly why people call you a fatty Troy.

Andre Grey who gave the ball away leading to the long ball into our box. All he had to do was control it and pass left or right to breaking Watford players. If he couldn't manage that then belt it into touch deep in their half. Not give it away in the last minute !!

Only saw the second half, but from what I did see it was a dire game between two poor teams that lacked real quality in the final third. Huddersfield showed more intent than us though and for that probaley deserved the win. Still to concede like that with their only shot on goal in the game in stoppage time is gutting. Even more so that the winner fell to that mentally deficient runt.

Thats three games in a row now we've thrown away because we cant defend a simple punt into the box and yet more points dropped in the final minutes. If this team could defend or concentrate for the full 90 odd minutes we would be 6th now. As it is we might get away with it and stay up. After dropping 5 points against Burnley & Muff you would have thought we would have learnt, but no.

I would agree with a post above its not a lack of effort thats the issue but we desperatley need some leaders, a whole lot of confidence and a change in mindset.

Also kudos to the Huddersfield fans, thought their support in the second half was really good

I see this is going to be another evening of attacking HB1. Oh what joy.

I only post honest views. What irrigates you is that you don't want to hear it, as you know it's close to the truth.

I'll call it as I see it. I've never subscribed to the popular sugar coated version that so many are addicted to.

You're very highly opinionated so posters will remember more about what you say. Not a bad thing really.

I'm only honest with my views. The big problem is people don't like hearing it because I don't package it up nicely. I don't soften the opinion, as others tend to do.

I agree, which is why I said people will remember your posts more than others. I think most people are honest on here though. Anyway, no more from me on this, the thread is for another dismal defeat.

Well, to modify it a bit, I think Gracia may be part of the problem. But your point is that the players are the one constant in all this. And you're right.
Of course not all the players will be equally culpable; so the task this close season will be to identify those who are make-weights and get in better players. Always easy to say, of course, but really difficult to do. Certainly, we should shift the ones who are just going through the motions, the most obvious of whom is Carillo. There probably needs to be a bit of a culture-change, where the squad acquire a stronger mentality - more self-belief as well as a readiness to graft. Probably this requires strong coaching and strong captaincy.
A determined look at the fitness-regimes and medical check-ups on potential new signings wouldn't come amiss, either.

Agree with this. I would also say it was the same with Silva. Ok he made the situation worse with the way he acted but there was more going on than him just having his head turned. There are parts of the model, such as the transfer committee, that just arnt working. The head coach needs a greater say in transfers and the hard line training regime which keeps causing so many injuries also needs revising.

The defence, even if it wasnt so injury & error prone, will need looking at as the average age next season will be over 30.

The issue is not that we lost. Its that we played with so little conviction and interest against a really poor team. That is why Gracia is failing. We only managed 4 attempts on goal in the match FFS !!!! We seem to have given up trying to score away from home since he came.
Much as we all hate the snake now, the football played away from home before Everton showed an interest was on a different level to the negative defensive disinterested boredom Gracia has brought.

I'm not saying Gracia is anything at all, merely that the issues we're seeing at the moment aren't down to him. We've seen the same things over and over again.

Gracia might prove to be not up to the task, but he's been in the job for such a short period that it's way too early to judge him. He's inherited all of our current issues and they don't reflect on him at all.

Personally, I think our downturn started when we lost Chalobah (and to a lesser extent Cleverley).

I don't think the problem is the setup or the owners. Look at how well Udinese have been doing recently.

I think this may well be the reason why you end up in discussions which go round in circles HB1.

If you don't remember what anyone else posts you'll be starting every conversation from the beginning with each post you reply with.
So you'll end up defending whatever point of view you put across rather than letting anything evolve into a conversation with either differing views, opposing views or ones which may criss-cross over more than one point.

You're not the only person on here to stand their ground without seeing others point of view may have credence but if those who do the same are conversing with you then yes, it'll invariably end up with heads butting against each other.

In other news not aimed at anyone at all... we lost, my Saturday feels ruined, life goes on.

Chalobah only lasted 4 games so although we have missed him we were doing ok before Cleverly got injured since then we have struggled especially away from home. Tom C gives us a lot of fighting spirit which is sadly lacking in some of his colleagues,

What's hypocritical of posting an honest opinion? This is the problem. I've called these bad runs, well before they happen. I get plenty of stick for doing it, but then more often than not, it's proved correct. This is what pisses some posters off because they so want me to be wrong. Actually I'd love to be wrong when it comes to predicting how bad we're going to be.

But if I read something which appears fairly lucid with some logic, then I would give that person some credit for the opinion, even if I didn't believe a word of it. I wouldn't try to trip them up, ridicule or turn aggressive towards that poster.

It seems if you are always positive, people like what you write, whether it's true or not. I am always looking for positives, but when it's wave after wave of what we've over the past couple of seasons, it becomes hard. Unfortunately, the truth is we're not very good.

In the bigger picture, we've never had it so good.....so there's a contradiction. But trying to post something that complicated on here would be lost on many, and I would be pulled up for saying one thing about how good Pozzo is one week, but saying how bad we are as a team the next.

Football is fluid. It changes from week to week. Now if Southampton and Stoke went on a good run, I'd be extremely concerned as I have zero faith the Watford side right now. If Stoke win at West Ham tomorrow, then the dynamic changes.

You should be allowed to make opinions in the moment, without recall.

I tend to give a foreign manager/coach some leeway when it comes to post-match comments, but he is using the same stock answers. "we will be better next week", "lessons must be learned".

That only works for a short time, and if it becomes clear things are not improving, then the words are hollow.

I must admit, I use to enjoy listening to Silva's post-match comments, but I don't bother with Gracia, as they have no real depth to them.
