Anyone can get the app, but the email to enter the ballot only went to ST holders and regular home match ticket buyers I believe.

Did anyone else find the image which headed the e-mail regarding the ballot a little strange for a "family" club which prides itself on an inclusive approach!

I've got this too. Just constantly being asked to do it again.

The club confirmed if the app does not work they will print tickets, however they aim to avoid this where possible. However it sounds like they may be printing quite a few.

When do the lucky ticket recipients get announced?

I'm not sure they stated it, but I guess that as today is the deadline to apply to enter the ballot that we would know by Wednesday.

Why can't they just validate our fan card - season card for the match?

We’re already going to have people not realising they can’t sit in their normal seat with the info on the app because our fans are “interesting” folk. It makes sense to provide the info as clear as possible and reduce contact between paper/card/reader etc at the same time.

Since 1999 I've had a decent seat just offset from the halfway line in the LGT, I accept that if I get a ticket on the ballot that I could be anywhere in the ground where they designate me.

Same - ish. Halfway line east stand seat since the 80s (bar an 8 year hiatus to the lower gt...)

I imagine they won't even open the east stand to fans - keep us as far away from players and staff/officials as possible. So if I get a ticket it'll probably be in the Rookery or GT stand.

My guess is the 2000 will be spread out across the Upper GT and the back halves of the Rookery and Vicarage Road end.

This popped into my inbox this morning:

    Dear Hornets Fan,

Thanks for your application form for our first 'match ballot' round, which covers the forthcoming quartet of December home fixtures.

This note is to confirm that we have received your application and are now beginning the process of allocating tickets.

You can expect to hear if you've been successful for this weekend's match against Cardiff City (Saturday December 5, 3pm KO) first, with further confirmations to follow for each of the remaining matches for which you've applied.

In the meantime, if you have any additional questions regarding the ballot process, please email ticket.office@watfordfc.com to allow the telephone lines to be clear for those that need to call.

If your question relates to access for disabled supporters, please contact Dave Messenger, the club's Supporter Liaison & Disability Access Officer, via dave.messenger@watfordfc.com or 01923 496397.

    Best Wishes

Wherever they seat me I’ll be watching the whole game from the rookery bar , revelling in the novelty of not having to wait 20 mins for a pint.

I mean, technically speaking, the stuff they serve up normally only just qualifies as food and drink.

“Moose” on Talksport was saying some clubs might try to ask if they can do that.

Also you don’t have to wear a mask outside but in the concourse you do

  22. Yeah, I heard it on Times Radio which is a Talksport sister station.

Seems peculiar that you can't have a beer in a pub (including the beer garden) without a substantial meal but may allow it while sat in a stand.

  24. It's only under discussion.

Yeah I suspect that will be a firm NO. And even if it were the interesting and intellectually diverse people they employ for the inside catering have difficulty taking a pie from a cabinet and turning around to give it to you or even filling a cup with hot water, imagine them trying to do al that and then deliver it to specific seats, and then being able to find their way back to the bar, it would be mayhem and theyd serve about 3 people

    Very intelligent virus is this.
It can see that you are having a beer, and might infect you, but if it sees that you are also having a meal it will leave you alone.
The whole thing is just a joke.

Leaving it a bit late now to post tickets I would have thought.
Hopefully they have sorted the bugs, and will be able to load it on the app.

Indeed, although I expect they can be collected from the ticket office. Won't be much of a queue with 2,000 fans. I had to e-mail the app developers and got absolutely no response so far, so if I am fortunate in the ballot it will have to be a paper ticket for me.

Ouch, how long does it take to deal with a queue of 2,000 people. Doesn't sound like too much fun to me. Better bring my sleeping bag. If I'm lucky enough to get a ticket that is.

I’ve got in too. Slightly mixed feelings as my sister hasn’t so I’ll be going alone which is slightly miserable. I’m curious, though, to see what the experience will be like.
