It's got nothing to do with spinning it. Take those 6 players out you suggest there and replace them with 6 of their U21. Do you think Chelsea would be relegated? Honest answer. Now do the same with Everton. Once you've done that now answer do you think Everton fans have anything to be arrogant about?
Very exciting game. I thought we did so well, especially Prodl who was an absolute rock at the back he won everything. Anya looked frightened and scared to go in for challenges and 50/50s which is not acceptable at this level, hopeful he will gain more confidence in future games. Very promising.
Don't think the cameras picked it up but Prodl shirked Barkley's thunderbolt ... otherwise he was great.
anyone see Capoue walk straight off at final whistle? Didn't shake anyone's hand just trudged off? Annoyed or injured? Any news? Thought he had a great game!
Trainee coaches, there is a written element to their exams. Rest assured Paul Merson would fail dismally, but that's another thread! Anyhow, great piece.
I heard it's his birthday next Saturday and the club's card hasn't turned up yet. I'm sure he's just a bit worried.
Some people will assume that this is my troll, but it's so witless and predictable that I wanted to disassociate myself from it. I don't even think our most gullible posters still bite. There's no subtlety, no nuances, no understanding of which buttons to push. It's a terrible effort.
Each to there own, I'm not one to shake hands after a game. If I pass someone yeah but I don't go round to other players to shake hands.
I'm not one to judge players as im also a very sore loser - however every other player clapped the away fans - i presumed he was injured as he walked straight off Seemed a bit odd to me.....
That's what months of sitting on a bench does for you, he probably forgot ... and I'm sure Troy will remind him next time.
What a fantastic day out. Great fun on the 1881 coach. Fortunately we made it to our seats 10 minutes before kick off (I know that the official coaches arrived later). Singing solidly throughout the whole game. Went berserk when we scored. Twice. Not much voice left. On balance I thought a draw was a fair result, and one that I would happily have taken before the game. Everton had two free headers (where was the marking ?) that both went wide; they should have done better with them. I thought Prodl & Cathcart were awesome, especially in the first half. Nyom defended well, but seemed to hoof the ball away once he won it. Troy tired noticeably in the second half (as many of the players did). Looking forward to our clash with the bottom-of-the-league Baggies on Saturday.
It was loud where we were at but I heard every Watford song and every Watford chant which my mate says is quite unusual from where we were sat (though his mate could't believe how loud Palace were last season:dismay ... Anyway well done you lot!
Seen a lot of stuff written about how we fared better than the other promoted sides, despite having the hardest fixture. Really? Everton are better than Crystal Palace? In order to make sense of this league we're going to have to stop falling into the same trap that everyone else does of assuming that 'established club' = 'better team'. It should do, but it really doesn't.
you could well be right. I also think it goes to show how annoyed they were that they let 2 points slip.
Bouncing at Everton link? I'm too old for Twitter Anyone got a link to the video that you can email to somebody to watch? Will send postal order of 50p to first helper
One more thing I hadn't really picked up on before ... you should watch Odion at set pieces, his eyes are everywhere watching who's got who and who goes where, i could almost swear he is calculating where the spaces will appear.
Everton are stronger on paper. Their points expectation is about 6/7 higher in the spreads. Plus we were away.
Nah I disagree. I'd rather face Seamus Coleman, John Stones and Romelu Lukaku than the fiercesome Joel Ward, Damian Delaney and Connor Wickham
You could say, I'd rather face Galloway, Ovedio and McCarthy than Cabaye, Zaha and Bolasie. Goodison Park day one is harder than at home v Palace
