Would much rather an expensive natural winger. Don't see where he would've fitted in - genuinely wasn't that bothered, and I'm aware that sounds bitter. Especially now we know he's a money-grabbing canut.
The thing that always baffles me about these moves is that, in a case like this, he's twenty-fu.cking-seven! He's wanted by a Prem club with serious owners and a great prospect to either earn another huge money move in one of the biggest shop windows in the world, or just play real football for a few more years whilst he actually can, then go to China and earn megabucks when it doesn't matter anymore.

I remember when Tommy Mooney was on the verge of signing for us permanently, he was offered a huge wage from the Chinese third division. Tommy hadn't even heard of China and so rejected the offer out of hand. That's the kind of passion we should be after.
Bit harsh, there could be extenuating circumstances. For example, maybe he's got that Gary Glitter sort of hobby and likes the region for that reason?
