He was anonymous just like Danny Rose who had a similar effect on us at the time!

1st trophy of the season, winning the Chav's Cup 4-2 on aggregate and looking good for the Serpent's Trophy with 2 away goals at Goodison going into the secong leg. On top of that our 3 away goals in the Muff Diver's Shield mean we're looking at a possible clean sweep. A 3 trophy season =)

Started well then went completely off the boil. Weirdly, concussed Will Hughes seemed better than normal Will Hughes has been recently, and then on lumbered Big Ken for a performance of mind-blowing *****ness.

Gracia made the right decision to hook him for Cleverley and tweak the formation. Deeney was great second half, particularly when we were defending the lead. Deulofeu ran himself to a standstill, including some much needed defensive work.

Femenia was excellent and Holebas hardly put a foot wrong defensively. Foster was his usual reliable self and time wasted like only he can. Special mention to Mariappa, did really well in the air but also made several key blocks as people got to the byeline. Ok, Zaha went past him a couple of times but that can happen to any defender in the league. Thought he didn't put a foot wrong.

Oh, and would definitely have lost that under Silva.

I particularly remember him loosing the ball in midfield and not bothering to chase back and gave a goal away as a result! :(

One other thing, can we please stop letting Deulofeu chip free kicks into the wall? If, as it appears, we don't have a single player capable to getting a direct free kick up and over a wall, can't we just roll it to the side and blast it, hoping for a lucky deflection?

Physio to Javi.. "Will is concussed and doesn't know who he is"
Javi to physio.. "tell him he's Luca Modric and get him back on"

*Shamelessly stolen from a true story involving Partick Thistle manager John Lambie.

All I can say is Clevs scored in the 74th minute and Graham Taylor would have been 74 years old.

What a great away day that was, it's always a bit special beating that lot. Another 3 points on the road racked up for Diamond Junior, we simply don't lose when he comes with me.

As for the game, well we got out of jail a bit because of Palace's inability to convert a chance. They actually have a very decent shape which they kept well, hence keeping us to 2 shots on target, (which both went in)! If they had a clinical finisher they'd be decent. Can understand why Cleverley came on late as he won't be able to manage 60+ minutes just yet of Premiership football, but Hughes going off so early messed us up tactically for quite a while. I'm still a bit upset we didn't give their substitute keeper more stick about his nazi salute.

Scenes in the away end when we scored the 2nd are what we go to football for. I particularly enjoyed the Watford fans in the executive boxes to our right who were going crazy amongst all the Palace corporates. On the way back to the station all I could hear was Palace fans complaining about the tactics and substitutions, nothing about us. Back from Selhurst in under 2 hours on public transport, it's almost a home game.

Well done for the victory today. Yup, we are blunt up top and I do fear we will be close to the drop. I have thought so since the start of the season and if we can't beat the likes of you lot at our gaff, we are in trouble.

Good luck for the rest of the season and congratulations for the win on what is a poignant day for Hornet fans in remembering GT.

To end, no. I'm not like you. I hate cheats and cheating and would care if we had to kick players to get victories. No, I don't think Wilf is a cheat who dives all the time. If I thought that, i wouldn't like him as a player, end of.

We signed Benteke the season after he had dived to get a penalty against us. For that reason, I'd rather he didn't play for us at all. It seems I'm very much in the minority. Pity.

I've come on this forum to talk to Watford fans in a fair way, I think. Apart from your reply, most have treated my post like ****. No class at all. Shame. One-eyed and biased. Shouldn't have expected anything else. As for the 'This is a football forum, not a coffee shop' comment, Pathetic.

    Good luck in Europe, Hornets.

Our showreel of goals has to be the strongest of any team.

Several times this season our Goal of the Day has been tough to win.

    You must be joking.
I think he’s a great player but HE has gained this diving reputation by HIS actions (diving) which is totally unnecessary.
If he cut that out of his game and focused on his clear talent he’d be better for it and respected for it too.

To be honest, you could've come on here and explained how one of our players had to go off with a concussion he received after just two minutes from an off the ball incident.

Or maybe you could've reflected on the multiple attempts to hack Deulofeu down by the Palace players. Or maybe, just maybe you could think about how good it was to see a tricky forward dribble past a couple of attempts to take him out and.... shock horror, stay on his feet!

Only one team cheating today and they deservedly lost.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but as far as i'm concerned, looking over at your forum, your lot ain't exactly the friendliest bunch. I mean, you've got a thread dedicated to why you hate Watford. Very Nazi-esque... Probably where Hennessey adopted his personality and characteristics.

Thought the game completely shifted after Hughes was forced off and I felt like for the majority of the game we game them far too much respect. When we stick both our central midfielders so deep it's really hard to bring the ball out of the back so we end up trapped a lot of times in our own half.

I can understand bringing on Sema after Hughes was forced off, considering he's had a few good games, but there's got to be some credit given to JG in making the decision to re-take him off when he was having a miserable day at the office. So glad for TC, he's one of the players at the club who I get the most joy from seeing him do well, especially considering his recent injury problems.

Credit to the back four who I felt dealt with whatever Palace could throw at us pretty well and Foster who is always good at relieving pressure when we are holding on to leads.

A win on the two year anniversary on the passing of the great man and up to 7th, happy days.

We offer little threat from free kicks.

Maybe we should go for the scrum option instead.

I just had a look at your first post #122, and apart from a few minor platitudes, it was written as though you wanted at bit of a barney, having a go at our team and this forum... and that does show a lack of class.

Why are you are surprised you got what you came for?

If you'd come in peace and wished us luck for the rest of the season, you'd have been welcomed like family. We've many other team supporters on here and they add a rich tapestry to the content.

But you, you've no class or quality about you, like your club and players. Arrogant, demeaning, a burglar not a guest.

Get gone and come back when you have learned how to be civil.
