Great result. Great finish from Tom the technique keeping that down and putting it in the top corner was sublime, after last season and all that time out injured couldn't be happier for him and a match winning goal. Deeney working hard is a great site its that time of year where he wakes up to try and send a message to the club to keep your millions and believe in me. Del Boy staying on his feet was also great to see if some of those fouls on him was the other way round on crying wilf I think we would of seen some theatrics and red cards. On that note I thought Kiko done very well against him today got away with one or two but overall done his job. Wan bissaka was by far their motm kept bobby p quiet and looked dangerous when he got forward I think they will do well to keep hold of him. Cathcart deserves a big shout today and with his goal probably deserves motm, hard to call as it wasn't our best performance we've played better and lost but they stuck to it today. Well played and credit to Spanish graham for getting it right again.
I'm not sure that was Pereyra's fault. Wan Bissaka had him in his pocket. But he's kept some of the best players in the league quiet this season. Great player, who will end up at a much bigger club than little Palace this summer.
To come back from a goal down and win, away from home is a fantastic result We're starting to win on belief rather than performance, which is massive. Imagine where we could be with the extra centre back and forward we crave ! Already best of the rest And more importantly probably one result away from another season in the top flight. How bloody good is life at the moment
Maybe Del should have taken a leaf from Zaha's book and gone down when he was fouled. Then the bookings would have evened up. Or maybe Zaha should take a leaf out of Del's book and stay on his feet
Train latest:- 'Of course they have a better squad than us, they get all their players from Serie A and places like that.'
'You can't get the ball off that Deulofeu, why can't we get players like that?' I guess they're going off Wilf.
I thought Crystal Palace were very predictable and without Wilfred Zaha they would be even further down the table, he looks like the only player in the final third capable of creating anything. Having said that he has not scored or got an assist in his last 13 matches and his finishing was not fantastic today either. Hodgson was talking about them finishing within the top 10 before todays game but realistically they are more likely to get relegated, they can't finish and for all the talk about them having a good defence they looked very unsteady at the back in the second half. There was also lots of talk from their fans about Watford being a dirty team but I did not see any evidence of that today, in fact the foul count was equal, it could also be debated that after all the talk of Watford players targeting Zaha that Palace players attempted cynical fouls or succeeded in committing fouls a number of times on Deulofeu. Overall I felt like we were the better team in the final third and used the ball better we wasn't great today but better than Palace who seemed a bit clueless. Deulofeu caused havoc when he decided to run at them, Troy was excellent an in my opinion our man of the match, he won every ball played up to him and held the ball up well and brought others into the game. Maxi was quiet today but he did show his class at times to hold onto the ball well when we needed him to in the last 10 minutes. Ken Sema was not great today I felt that we should have brought Cleverley on for Hughes in the first place, in defence to Ken he is patently a totally left footed player and don't look completely comfortable on the right. Super Ben again had a solid performance.
Great character and a good win. Pleased for Cleverly after a tough year. Best Femenia perfornance in ages. Very good. Sema is dreadful.
They put the away fans in a corner of a stand whereby when the ball goes over 10 feet it becomes a guess the ball competition, however we should and we were very unlucky not to score in the first minute, their goal was the type of scrappy goal we don’t believe in converting and we scored one good goal and a cracker! Job done and on to next week home to Burnley COYH
He was about to say every year then realised we hadn't so moved to every other. Watford, loans, manager revolving door, Elton John, Deeney, nose bleeds. There's Quinn's full knowledge of wfc.
Deeney led the line well Delofeou had a few critics, but I thought he was a constant thorn in their side. Didn't always make the right decision but always a concern for them. Doucoure would've been our worst player, if not for an historically abysmal performance by Sema. Ken had impacted games positively recently, which is great, but it's hard to work out how. He's slow in movement and slow to react, he's terrible on the ball, off the ball.. ok, today was, surely a bad day at the office, but a professional, premier league player should not have depths like this to be plumbing Cathcart i was delighted for. Didn't let an OG which didn't look to be his fault affect him and scored a great header from a near impossible angle. Holebas another assist and he's becoming one of our most important players Mariappa did well, I thought. I'm one who agrees he can't be our main centre back, but he did a job today. Don't think Kiko deserved to be booked. He had a good second half after not being up to it in the first. Cleverley, I was calling for him to come on instead of Sema for Hughes, not just because of his ability compared to ken, but tactically, I felt we were losing it in midfield and an extra winger was a waste, when we weren't getting enough possession from which to launch any attacks. Great to win and good character shown. I don't expect us to finish 7th but it's nice to flirt with this level of the league.
14 points clear of relegation at the moment, already beaten last seasons away points total, keep this up and we'll be safe by Easter.
Cleverley well in with a shout for Goal of the Season. Outstanding control and technique on the strike, on his return from some pretty horrible injury problems, to seal the double against the Nigels.
I do, but they were utterly unmemorable, except for his insistence on shooting instead of crossing. We sent him back early
