If people are possible of predicting Championship matches you would be quids in betting wise. Put your money where your mouth is and earn yourself a small fortune. I find it absolutely impossible.

I fine when betting the 1st and 2nd division results are easier to predict and get right than the top two divisions. However I have not made a small fortune or even a large one for that matter!

That would be true except that we've been worse than before in our last two games, whereas on Saturday Brentford and Swansea showed a vast improvement on their recent form.

No. The points gap is the same as it was on Thursday but everyone has one fewer game to play. It is certain that Watford are a little more likely to be promoted. Form does not change that because form does not affect the number of opportunities left for the chasing teams.

Thanks everyone. I have read the many thoughts, worries, expressions of confidence etc., but can someone just let me know if we are going to be promoted to the EPL?

That is entirely fair and most reasonable. Much appreciated.

Form does however affect the points a team is likely to get from the matches remaining.

Best I can do in the middle of a pandemic. Things are improving though. If you'd asked me last September I'd have said I'd need about 9 months to come back to you.

  10. But you could argue that we had the hardest game of the 3.

But the misplaced passes throughout - both centre backs could have given away a goal before we scored - weren't down to the quality of the opposition. I thought we'd improve after our two excellent goals, but we didn't. Fortunately Sanchez took control and saved us from collapse.

  12. I agree, it hasn't been great. But Reading were a very decent side.

If we can get at least 3 wins from the remaining 5 games then yes, we'll go back up. If we have to go thru the play-off then I don't think we'll make it. We MUST win our 2 games against mid table sides Millwall and L*ton and if we can win just one of our 3 toughest games against Norwich, Brentford and Swansea, then that should be enough to get us promoted. Apart from their recent 3-0 win at Millwall, Swansea haven't been playing well lately, hopefully we can beat them this time.

No doubt about it, we had the toughest fixture of any of the leading sides last weekend. Reading have been consistently near the top of the table all season.

Swansea and Brentford have to win. The pressure is on them.

One loss in their next 6 games and their max becomes 88pts (Brentford), 87pts (Swansea).

They can’t afford to drop any points to stand a realistic chance of promotion. They know that and will feel that pressure going in to every game.

We must beat Lut*n. Do that and mentally they will start thinking about the playoffs. If we’re on 85pts after Saturday’s game finishes, we will be in a very commanding position with 4 games left.

Winning at Lut*n is a must!

We've been below par for the last 3 games and gained 7 points.

    Not too shabby.

We can certainly improve massively, but even if we're half decent we should continue to pick up points.

We actually had some really good chances to extend the lead as well, it wasn't just about Reading missing the chances we allowed them.

    The Championship is nuts.

It's really odd. Our performance today was truly horrible. Having said that, which set of fans will be most annoyed right now?

I would guess Brentford and Swansea.

Worst result of the day was Bournemouth win at Norwich. Win all their games now and they get 86 points. If the beat Brentford you would fancy them to hit that target. So I now the kids we need 87 to get automatic

I had us down for a draw yesterday and both Brentford and Swansea to win so actually we are now one point better off in my predictions than before yesterdays matches. We have to secure second place as I can see Bournemouth winning the play-offs unless they come with a late run to gain automatic promotion. If the play-offs are between us, Swansea, Brentford and Barnsley we have as much chance as the others.

That includes via the play off too. If you look at odds on being in the top 2 there’s a massive gulf between us and the rest.

Hopefully Swansea only draw then basically a win on Saturday will be enough regardless of what anyone else does?
