I've noticed a lot of people on here are questioning Malky's loyalty and commitment to the club. What do you want him to do? Sign a new contract every time another club comes in for him? Turn down a job that he hasn't even been offered yet? Six months ago Malky signed a new deal at the club and rejected the opportunity to manage what many would argue is a superior club in Burnley. I have yet to hear any real proof of Malky leaving the club apart from the drivel on the Cardiff forum and whilst GT's statement is slightly uncertain it just seems like he is being conservative and not making any bold claims until he, the Colonel and other key figures in the club speak to Malky tomorrow. I have said it before and I will say it again; Malky's future is essentially in the Colonel's hands. If the Colonel sits down with Malky tomorrow and fills him with hope and promises him the realistic resources and opportunities that he suggested in the brief Wobby interview then I have no doubt that Malky will still be Watford manager by our first game next season.
Spot on. Anyone who questions Malkys loyalty and commitment, are frankly, idiots. The guy took on a colossal task when becoming manager, cutting costs in a huge manner. He has brought us league stability when arguably, we are smaller than many teams in League 1. Put it like this, Brendan Rodgers and Aidy would not have stuck around had this of happened!! Tomorrow is a big day for the club. If we hear nothing, i'm confident that Malky will stay as he'll be happy with what he's heard. Its up to Colonel. Malky doesn't strike me as the figure that would walk away from the club if Bas put his foot down.
Just had a quick look at the odds for the Cardiff job and while Malky is still odds-on, his prices are beginning to lengthen a tad on a couple of sites. The funny thing being Alan Shearer is now second favourite with his prices falling across the board! They wouldn't, would they?
Imagine today will be the day where there is movement on this and yet I have no access to any computer or news outlet all day!! Brilliant!
hi, the 'original' bluebird in peace here i wont succumb to messageboard rumours so until a deal is signed, then i dont believe MM is new gaffer i do believe there is a good chance he will become our man but footballs a funny game, we'd probably end up getting robbins or mcinnes i would, however, prefer MM. i posted here the other day that i believe there isn't much if a chance MM will come to us but as the days go on, i may be wrong and it is becoming likely. whatever happens, either way, i expect two epic games against the hornets next season
Hopefully he does make the trip to Cardiff, we get a nice compensation package and we can pursue one of the better managers out there. Now, don't get to upset guys.....
So has MM gone yet? I thought he was going yesterday? Or is it today? The cost of all these hotels all over the country must be adding up
Not to mention the cost of the fuel, flying back and forth from holiday and motoring to Cardiff, Nottingham and Birmingham as well
Hi Bluebird. What's the reaction over there now Alan Shearer is the bookies favourite? I see Mark Hughes is having some money put on him so as a Welshman does he look a promising/popular appointment?
alan shearers name being branded about isn't going down well but personally i'll back whoever takes over. certain managers tick with certain clubs so being negative before we start isn't going to win us any points in august. unfortunetly 90% of our lot are very pessimistic unless we get who we want. i guess im in the 10%. shearer, is unproven and who knows, maybe another club that isn't his own, could be a blessing. mark hughes would be popular but i cant see him leaving a stable prem club to drop down to what seems is a difficult one at cardiff. he has no affiliation with us apart from being welsh we are taking so long now, im almost hoping for anyone as we need players in asap any news your end regarding malky's meeting?
I just can't see Shearer being appointed as surely you need a manager with some sort of track record. It must be a bit worrying now Birmingham are looking for someone as I'd imagine they'll be after a similar type of appointment, someone with a good reputation but who won't cost the earth in either wages and/or compensation? As for Malky's meeting.. I'm the last to find out anything so I'm the wrong person to ask  I suppose officially we'll only hear indirectly about anything once players start coming in as I can't see they'll disclose any potential targets such is the current policy. Interesting times for both our clubs indeed!
our original favourite, allegedly, chris hughton would have been (and could still be) an excellent candidate who is cheap but apparently didnt impress the board. i want someone that can walk the walk not talk the talk think we missed a trick there as brum are favourites for him its like a bloody rollercoaster
Based on what he did after Newcastle's relegation from the Premier League, I'd say he can walk the walk & talk the talk! Still believe them sacking him when they did was very poor.
And as you say, the need to appoint someone relatively soon as teams seem quite active in the transfer market already. I've never liked rollercoasters :dismay:  Oh, and thank you arty1: edit: Our local paper has just tweeted; Alan Shearer is on verge of being appointed Cardiff City manager, reports suggest. For your sake I hope that's not true.
agree, proves mike ashley is one of the biggest c**ts in the game as i said, i dont think he talked the talked in the interview, or so we are led to believe
cheers lads our forum is going mental about 10 threads a minute lol if its true, could be a good appointment time will tell eh i need a :drinking:
I love the roller coasters which is why I am in Florida. Nothing to do with the sunshine. Just missed a thunderstorm by going back to my appartment to check up Malky and Cardiff
looking at the cardiff forum, the supposed ITKs suggest that malky is still going to be manager. could this shearer thing have been orchestrated to ensure that odds drift on malky?
Well, their ''In the know'' chap has just posted this : http://www.cardiffcityforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=49521
yep seems to me that it may be shearer then. i wonder how long it will be before we honestly do lose malky?
At the end of the day none of these 'ITK' Cardiff fans have ever had a f**king clue what's going on. Someone heard they were interested in Mackay and vice versa, that got turned into "Mackay has had talks" with them, which turned into "Mackay is going to be the new Cardiff manager", which now, shocker, looks to be the total sh*te it has been since the beginning and Shearer is going to be appointed.
Malky is a Hornet, Malky is a Hornet lalalala!!!! :sign15: :drinking: :eating: Kind of feel sorry for those Cardiff fans. They have basically been lied to and bullsh*tted by the 'ITK' mods that they trusted and they are still taking their word on Shearer's appointment and kissing their arses.
