When are watford managers going to learn? Bristol city away all over again. With an international break coming up.
Was always going to happen. This was an absolute must win game to create an air gap between us and second. Instead, we went out, half baked, squad rotated thinking that we would p!ss it. We didn't. Expect to be 7th by 1800hrs on Saturday.
Based on what I listened to it sounds like birmingham deserved the win, not sure about anya in midfield... or on the pitch really
You could see which way that was going when the starting line up was announced. What was Joka thinking? You don't underestimate teams in this division. Even shyte like Birmingham.
Am i the only one who doesn't think rotation was the issue tonight? Munari, abdi and bassong being injured was. That midfield was awful, no balance. Tozser marked out the game meaning we have no midfield essentially. Our squad is very very good, but our midfield options are poor, as soon as munari abdi or tozser are injured our team become half as good. We could have done with a battochio out there today... We essentially have probably our two starting centres back put injured and 2/3 of our midfield injured. Saying that, we should still be beating Birmingham.
Perhaps we could make Chamberlain's most important job explaining to every new manager that if you play a weakened side away from home in this league, you invariably lose, perhaps with a natty powerpoint presentation to back it up. Are we the only league in Europe to play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday? All these managers seem to think it's physically impossible to manage three games in a week.
why do people who one week say what a great squad we have, then complain when it goes wrong. I for one never thought our bench was that great. We got a good first 11 who can compete for the lead. But after that, dont think so. I suppose the manager needed to see this for himself in an actual game.
Team selection aside, it sounds like the players that played didn't turn up. Deeney was anonymous, Toszer was well off his game and Anya is a shadow of his former self. Makes you wonder if they have any real fight in them at all.
Oh there's a surprise, you make an appearance when we lose spouting 'I told you so'...feck off will you
When will we learn to respect every single team in this division instead of dropping half our best players everytime we come up against a lesser side? Rotating the squad DOES NOT WORK. Blown top spot yet again.
Each league game is worth the same amount of points. Perhaps the Pozzos ought to factor that into their cutting edge scientific analysis.
We took our foot off the gas, we were punished. Hopefully Joka will drum this into them. Fair play Birmingham, in some ways perhaps we need to learn this lesson not to go easy for 'easier' games. The ball only passed Gandalf once.
Sadly a lesson for Joka tonight. Doing the same thing cost us promotion under Zola 2 years ago. I'm hoping that Joka realises that this cost us the game and will learn from it (unlike Zola). Looking at the stats they didn't seem to create many chances (had 17 shots, 10 were from outside the box). At first I was baffled by Anya in CM, took me a while to realise it was so he could push wide with his pace and help out Doyley. The stats also seem to suggest he didn't have a bad game, passing accuracy on par with Tozser and Mcgoo. The defensive stats not so much, being lightweight as he is, pace is pretty much his only "go to" move when it comes to defending, and that showed with his 1 solitary tackle made. Terrible idea. Andrews should have 100% started. Please please learn from this Joka!
We do have a few very good replacements in our squad who are at least capable of competing in this league. Playing Anya and McGugan in central midfield is asking for trouble especially when, in my view, Anya has absolutely none of the skills required to play more central as was blatantly obvious last time he played him there. Murray should have been in that midfield instead if he insists on rotating.
Sitting waiting for crowd to clear to get out of car park at Brum a few quick thoughts on tonight. Never looked like winning that game our defence was awful and their winning goal was a joke no marking for a simple close range header please get Angella fit asap. With both Munari and Abdi missing Tozser was left with too much to do in midfield with very little help. Why rest Vydra we really missed his movement up front. Got to move and head for home now more thoughts tomorrow.
When will these clueless managers learn that 11 players should be picked before the season begins and start every single one of our 46 games?
What mistake? It's a long season and one game doesn't make a season sweetie...at least I don't turn up with joy when we lose to$$er. You're just a piece of sh!t...plain and simple.
To be fair, Slav needs some FM exposure. You make any more than two changes in that game, you lose, irrespective of opposition.
