He'll be much better in a back 4 but with Angella, Tamas, Hoban & Ekstrand surely he simply isn't needed? Especially as he didn't impress last season. Maybe they're expecting one to leave.

 

I'm assuming we have taken the option now as his loan was about to expire...

As people have said above he should do better in a flat back four, either way it takes players time to settle.
Lets see how he does in the World Cup and then get a full preseason done.

4 CBs is fine. If one of the preferred 2 gets injured/suspended then the one from the bench fills in leaving 1 spare.
