Serious point though..looks like a real effort to increase our physicality. We should get a fair few goals from corners, if we can find a replacement for DT to take them!
looking like we have got Behrami has a reputation of willing to get stuck in to tackles etc , looks pretty useful
I think it has been confirmed, Behrami is a Watford player I think, have a read of this (link below) and decide for yourselves: - http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/...agreeing-to-join-watford-ready-for-new-advent
Looks really hard working and hard hitting in that video. Big yes from me, should also finally put a nail in that stupid Joey Barton rumour. Some comments translated from the video: 'I found him really well! Was a working player and has tempered the victory against the sentence to the other ! Too bad he is now leaving us ' 'A great fighter and I wish him to get back into shape in England . But I think the separation is the right move .' 'Also do not understand why he has to leave again after one year .' 'I wish him the best of luck in Watford' 'Unfortunately far too poorly spoken was in the first half of the season one of the best and most responsible for the then 4th best defense in the league !'
but now I start a new adventure with great joy. Oh Valon, we've waited so long to hear these words from someone :love2:
People said before how big a pull London is for players and it's noticeable that both our summer recruits who have played in the PL already (not counting Vydra as a new signing) both played for London clubs, as has Stambouli if he signs too.
In theory the London thing should be attrative to players who live abroad - I think I recall Prodl mentioning this but we've hardly been an attractive proposition to some. I reckon they should big up Herts as a nice place to live too.
I see Behrami being a replacement for the Guerdiora. A hard working, box to box centre midfielder with good technical ability. Sentiment aside, it's clear that Behrami is a superior player to Guerdiora, given the two players' career history.
I would prefer Tozser to Behrami myself. Behrami's a grafter, but we have one of those in Ben Watson, and we've just bought a Defensive Midfielder in Capoue. If we released Tozser to make room for Behrami then I'm not happy at all. If we're playing 4-2-3-1 Tozser would have been good alongside Capoue, acting as the playmaker alongside the physicality of Capoue. I can understand letting him go if we're going with a 4-4-2, Tozser would be a weak point in a 4-4-2 due to lack of mobility. Fair enough if they wanted to release him to make way for someone better, but I don't view Behrami as that much better than Tozser. And Guedioura's technical ability far outweighs Behrami's in my opinion.
https://a-game-of-thrones000.obsidianportal.com/characters/ser-valon-aegis Seems quite old and only master at arms for a minor house. Can't see the point myself.
I just feel like your glasses may be extraordinarily rose-tinted when considering the quality of our Championship team vs. the quality of established top league European footballers.
Capoue isn't just a defensive midfielder, he got forward at every opportunity the other night. He and Behrami could be a good mix. Both tough b@stards and both can do the defensive side and the attacking side of the game. Let's be honest, Tozser was the least physical midfielder you'll ever see. Capoue made some lovely passes the other night just like the ones Tozser used to do and I'm assuming Behrami can pass a football too. The 2 midfielders in the 4-2-3-1 are going to have to cover a lot of ground as the 4 in front of them are going to be attacking players who will leave holes, Tozser doesn't have mobility either. Guedioura does obviously but saying Guedioura is far better technically than Behrami is strange seeing as I thought people would at least wait until he's put a Watford shirt on before deciding that? But if you want the players we had in the Championship who the club don't think are good enough anymore then thats up to you I guess.
If this is him at his worst, it's a big yes from me
Had the 4th highest number of Tackles per game in the Top 5 Leagues last season (Higher than Matic, Schneiderlin etc)
...and I just think this is an incredibly stupid thing to come out with full stop! And Guedioura's technical ability far outweighs Behrami's in my opinion.
I will have £1 with anyone that he will be our most booked and sent off player next year! and that is not a criticism!
Just my opinion fella. That's what's great about free speech, you can say what you like, even if some people think what you're saying is stupid! If you want to back your side of the argument up though mate, use facts instead of simply labelling a comment stupid eh .
Has passed his medical and the deal is done according to someone at the club of Hamburg. They are claiming a €3.5mil which all their fans are ecstatic about.
So essentially looks like Tozser, Munari and Guedioura out, Stambouli, Capoue and Behrami in. I'd like Guedioura back but as a whole the new three are a lot, lot stronger.
3 new defensive midfielders. All played in the PL before. All lived in the London area before. 2 full internationals, and an Under 21 international. One's played in World Cups and Euros. One's won the French top division. All 6 footers. Total cost..no more than £12 million. Good business.
In France, I believe Capoue got, in consecutive seasons, 13 then 14 yellow cards, the latter being the most by any player anywhere in La Ligue 1 that season. So he may run your man close!
