According to Udinese News today both are being deemed surplus to Udinese squad requirements (with Ranegie impressing more than Vydra) and are likely to move either on loan or permanently. We know about Vydra but possibilities again for Badu!!!!
Yup, this. While it would be deliciously ironic, I couldn't bear the thought of our owners doing anything to help Holloway. I hope they end up at some other Premiership club, like West Ham, and Vydra scores the goal costs Holloway his job.
I'm sticking by what I've thought all summer and that is that Vydra will end up back here. If he's not good enough to be in the Udinese squad I can't see any of the big teams his agent wants him to go to, wanting him either. Badu has been talked about a lot before and I'm a little suprised they don't want him
Fair point, I guess. Every chance of him actually signing if nothing comes his way with a "big" move. I just don't see it happening. Obviously a brilliant player and has goals in him but I've got a feeling that he has some sort of attitude that he doesn't want to come back here. It may have been out of frustration of not getting a goal in a while.
Agreed. Since Udinese don't want him, if no one else comes in for him, he'll not be playing football next year. That's hardly good for his career. I feel he'll be back unless a decent sized club steps up. I don't think this is going to happen, since the clubs most likely to take a punt are those battling relegation this year, and he clearly doesn't fancy that sort of move. I think his agent is the problem, giving him horrendous advice that might seriously damage his career. I hope that doesn't happen, because he's clearly got the talent to go far. Ironically, now that we've signed Acuna as a replacement, he might find it difficult to get in our team if he does end up coming back. Acuna seems very highly rated by those who have seen him play, and I'm not talking about WFC fans who looked him up on Youtube.
I think it's his agent's fault. Judging from his clumsy handling of the media, the guy is clearly a tool who is out of his depth. He claims European teams are fighting for his client, and yet no one seems to be interested outside of relegation certs like Palace.
Good thread, Would love Vydra back, would be upset if he went to cp. Not sure about Badu, not seen him play but seems to be getting good reviews!:sign15:
Update on Twitter: Emanuele Giulianelli @EmaGiulianelli 24m Crystal Palace offers 20 mln € for Vydra + Badu I can hardly believe that Palace would be willing to stump up so much cash, though perhaps part of the deal is instalments. I would hate for Vydra to go to palace, but hopefully he will see sense and hold out for a better move elsewhere.
20m Euro's?? I would question that before anything else. I know they get a lot for going up but that is a heck of a lot of money for two unproven players
If true, £20m is a lot of money. Depends on how much the Pozzo's value Badu. Money is money and if the deal ticks the Pozzo's boxes then they will of course do business with Palace. We all know Holloway is a hypocrite of the highest order, so an offer from Palace is no surprise. The Pozzo's may well accept, but I would be surprised if Vydra would want to play for a club that is clearly only going to be in the Premiership for one season. Badu and Vydra would be Palace's best two players and that's hardly going to do them any favours by being in the Premiership for just one season. I really think it would be a poor move for either of these players, just because Palace are in the Premier next season, doesn't mean they would be a good club to move to. I think they would go to a club that is far more established.
I would hate them to go to CP.... BUT... (evil side of me coming out) would it not be even funnier for them to spend 20m plus and then they flop like mad!!!
I can see it. ..Vydra playing at CP getting spanked every week, bottom of the prem, having a bad spell watching us rip the league up. . Getting ribbed by pudil every day he d be thinking. .... what the frig have I done
Well if that rumour is true then this'll make the Pozzos think. There's no questioning Vydra in that when he plays, he plays well. Can't say the same about Badu as I've not seen him but judging others' comments about him he's the same. Both have potential to be good players. That said there's no guaranteeing anything, especially in football and 20 million euros (just over £17 million) is a great sum for 2 unproven players and I would bite their hand off for that. This is probably all bulls(h)ite though
If Vydra's attitude in training was questionable in a great passing team pushing for promotion then what's it going to be like getting humped in the premier league every week?! I'd love Palace to waste that sort of money - either he wouldn't perform or if he did he'd just leave them anyway!
Although Vydra had a real purple patch for us last season and has obviously got real talent, I have to question his attitude? It would be hard to say no to having him back, and at the end of the day I probably wouldn't because he is so good when in the right frame of mind. However I would still have my doubts because of his attitude over the latter part of last season? Lets hope he comes to his senses and gets rid of his agent, then comes back into the fold firing on all cylinders.
Palace fans are UTTERLY deluded. I've just found on their forum someone saying he thinks we're selling Vydra for £1.5 million: Registered User Vydra Wants Prem football and apparently available for £1.5m. Let's snap him up!
Even if Vydra goes to palace and scores 20 goals they will still be relegated. Surely he knows that they will only last one season?
Holloway seems to be completely forgetting that they desperately need defenders. Also, he's signed a completely different striker to Murray, maybe even two, with Odemwingie possibly going too. Hull, meanwhile, have signed two defenders and a goalkeeper. Dear me.
If Vydra re-signs for us the majority of these posters will e licking him backside His a very good player. How you can question his attitude when you know his agent has been touting him to all since January is bizzare. His attitude was fantastic last year why would it have changed over a few weeks of the close season.
I have heard that he is more than likely to come back to Watford. Told to expect him rejoining the Watford camp soon apparently.
