  1. No, but they did threaten you'd lose your ST if you didn't let them know for 2 or more games or something.

Don't you just love our club!!!

Meh. I still the reaction to that was pretty overblown. We all know there were at least a few hundred ST holders who bought their seats and then only turned up when the top 5-6 teams were in town. It was never aimed at the average fan. Given a choice between ramping prices so high for everyone that it would put that minority off or simply changing the T&Cs so they had the option to revoke STs from them, I think that was the right call.

    Obviously it's completely immaterial now.

Seen a QPR fan posting on Twitter they have a ticket in the 1881 section, his mate got him a ticket.

Not trying to be snitch but not good is it.

I have just got a ticket (hope it’s a better showing than my last game in December) doesn’t look like that many left

Looking at the ticket site there's just over 1,000 tickets available for sale. Assuming QPR sell out the away end and all season ticket holders show up that's a 20,000+ crowd. Obviously a lot of season ticket holders won't be there so realistically whatever they announce it'll probably be 17,000ish inside the ground at least.

Well you beat me to it, I have just counted 1116 seats available at 8.45 this morning, so yep 20,000 crowd as per sold seats.

Impressive considering so many said they were fed up of the club!

620 seats still for sale. Not sure of the capacity these days 22,000? 300+ open corner seats not for sale so take a total 1000 off..Should be 21,000. Minus 3,000 st holders of course.

Think we have the ideal fixtures to start well but...

Irrelevant what we think the actual attendance is, the club will broadcast a different higher number anyway.

That's because they don't give the actual attendance, they give seats sold.
It's wrong to call it the attendance, but it is the way all clubs work.

Obviously it's just up the road for them, but with how they seem to be going, is that something we can take for granted?

unfortunately I have made my symbolic protest. If we do well I’m going to be like that Bulgarian who threw his TV into the street just before they made a run to semi finals in 1994 World Cup :)

    QPR do this everytime.
No doubt they be a little squabble where everyone around them stands up, The QPR fan waves his arms round a bit before the stewards swoop and everyone cheers

Adding in the weather as another factor, I am increasingly optimistic of a sub 10k crowd today.

    Come on!

At the beginning of the week I tried to buy two seats together in the UGT. None available. Could only get them right at the end of the SEJ stand. Amazing after last season.

Obviously wasn't 20k but still a much better turnout than I expected. QPR looked like they sold out their end as well.

A mate tried to buy a ticket before ko and was told it was sold out apart from the Vic Rd end. He had to attend with a child otherwise he couldn’t get in. He was turned away. There were others trying to buy as well.
With only single seats available even if they sold you an adult and a child ticket you wouldn’t be able to sit next to your child. Obviously with hundreds of empty seats to sit in at ko why are they turning fans away? A ridiculous situation when this season attendances will struggle to fill the ground.
A solution would surely be to sell blank “sit in an empty seat” tickets before kick off.

How would the club know before kick off how many seats would be empty?

  27. Eastcoastorn

There is always at least 500 odd seats free at every game I’ve been to for the last four years.

  28. FromDiv4

As we all would estimate, the club could assume there will be some empty seats, but they could not know for sure, or where they would be. The club would not be allowed to double sell seats, it would be against their safety certificate.
What would help is a good system for season ticket holders to release their seats, then the club would know the seat was not being used.

I thought after last season and a less than exciting summer of incomings, we'd start to see thousands of empty seats, and attendances closer to the 12k mark, like the 'good old days'.

Think I underestimated how many young fans we picked up by being in the PL for several years. Good to see.

It was only the family stand which didn't look particularly full tbf, a better turnout than I thought
