The only issue with his age is his resale value, but he's in the final year of his contract with Man Utd anyway so he'll soon have little to no value to them as far as the transfer fee is concerned, and they paid £15m for him. That's life and that's football, we'll get two or three useful years out of him which is more than plenty of the 'potential' young signings like Berghuis and Oulare have given us. When players get into their thirties a lot of it comes down their desire to play more than anything else, some want to carry on some can't be bothered, you don't necessarily fall apart and lose all your footballing ability at 30+

 

I don't think we should have sold him in the first place .

He defo could do a job in the Prem.

 

Lot's of question marks on this one, how long for him to settle in, can he adapt to the country, the climate, the language, the premiership, get to grips with our club winning mentality, ladedada etc etc

 

Clearly the club have to be sensible over the kind of deal they're willing to offer someone of his age, however if fee is reasonable and wages can be afforded I think Young would be a solid addition to the squad. He's a versatile homegrown option, who can cross the ball as well as anyone and has bags of experience. Having someone that can fill in for an injury-prone Janmaat (or for that matter a 33 year old suspension-risk at left back), in addition to giving options on either wing has to be attractive. Ticks a lot of boxes for me.

 

As a 60 mins sub for Vydra ? No need for those 2 when we have Oulare, Okaka and Sinclair.

Yes. Playing 4 at the back we need a LB who can attack rather than a LWB or winger who can defend a bit.
